Oh, man ... what an awesome show it was ...

Only problem which I realized tonight ... I FORGOT MY DIGITAL CAMERA IN CHARLESTON!! * :red:

Stone Mountain is one of the most interesting and beautiful places I 've been to. I spent two days there several years ago and keep saying I want to go back and see all the stuff I didn't have time to get to. I would definately recommend it as a place to visit.

Stone Mountain really is great. I've been there before(I'm only 80 miles SW of Atlanta).

This is my 2nd visit to Stone Mountain ... the first being 18 years ago. The laser show was everything I remember and better than the first time, and the fireworks finale last night was nothing less than spectacular ...

Yes, it is. It's amazing just how far the mountain extends into the ground as well (10 miles deep). The scenery is beautiful and I knew it was going to be a good night up there with the passing thunderstorm moving away displaying a beautiful half-arced rainbow alongside of it.

Hey, Linda. We're going to see another fireworks display later tonight in Acworth, GA. The weather in comparison to Charleston here is much less humid, and definitely not quite as hot. I just looked at some progs for this week and it looks as if some flat ridging will take place and just might reduce the rain chances this week across here.

So basically, I'm just checking in as I can.

Good deal SF!! Never been to the Acworth display. Sure it will be nice! :D

When I was in South Carolina the humidity there was awful! Way worse than here on the MS Coast. Enjoy the lower humidities in GA. lol.

Charleston, in particular ... with the Ashley and Cooper Rivers, along with the seabreeze, makes for the worse combination .. and in general, temperatures getting into the mid-90's makes for general daily 105º heat index commonly a daily occurrence ... bleh!

Also, I seemed to jinx it ... a line of thunderstorms have developed across between Rome, and Atlanta GA barreling east at around 30 mph.

Yeah... it looks like rain chances are virtually non-existent this week.

The reason it's not as quite as bad here in regards to the heat is because we have had a lot of rain in the last few weeks and the ground moisture is high. Could be in the Mid 90s by mid-week though with heat indicies approaching 105.

We were lucky tonight ... after some heavy showers on the way there, the s/w passed on to the east and took the heavy weather with it ... Athens, and Augusta weren't so lucky ...

Oh, also got sunburned shoulders as well today ... oops!
