If they were personal friends (which it sounds like most of them were) and were not actively lobbying for an outside interest when they donated (it sounds like none of them were), then IMO its no big deal, and certainly not the issue you made it out to be, Linda. The problem with lobbyists is the intention of the interests they represent - they expect a return on their investment. Donations made because of personal support should never be considered out of bounds, as long as they are legal. After all, thats what democracy is about, isnt it?

No need for rude faces, BTW. And really, picking your nose in public is NOT very attractive. I think we can elevate this discourse a bit above that, cant we?

Oh please. LOL!! It is obvious you will have an excuse for everything regardless of the facts presented to you. I love that song "Blinded by the Light" :Chit: :vote:

Yeah I love that song too....

"Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Madman drummers bummers,
Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground
But she was...
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong,
play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride
But she was...
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tired
She's gonna make it through the night
She's gonna make it through the night
But mama, that's where the fun is
But mama, that's where the fun is
Mama always told me not to look into the eye's of the sun
But mama, that's where the fun is
Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
Says, "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone,
that's where they expect it least"
And some new-mown chaperone was standin' in the corner,
watching the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin' with his frozen zone, reminding him of romance
The calliope crashed to the ground
But she was...
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Madman drummers bummers, Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground
Now Scott with a slingshot finially found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand
And some bloodshot forget-me-not said daddy's within earshot save the buckshot, turn up the band
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong"

Was something I just posted not true??

I just believe that most people have lives and thoughts outside of their jobs. People who work as lobbyists are still people, and are capable of having independent thoughts..... I just feel better about their donations when there are no strings attached (such as this situation, where there were no clients on the line).

Do you always insult people who disagree with you? Ive really made a point of trying to keep this debate at a civil level, but you seem to love rolling around in the mud. To each his/her own, I guess....

And with that, Im going to drop this. At least until someone shows up with some FACTS :P

Yeah true, but when you hit the campaign trail and say you do not believe in lobbyists but then secretly receive money from them even though they are not registered then to me that is lying. I would not want a man like that running this country.

But then again, he is the right candidate to run with Kerry. They both own flip flops.

Go back and check out the Presidential debate. Read how Kerry attacked him for this same thing. But now he wants him as his running mate. Maybe that will be enough facts for you.

Sorry you took me as insulting. Was just trying to joke with you using the emoticons because you did to.
