David,

I am the Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum coach, so I don't deal with the team (policy) debate, but I do think that the topic is very interesting.

Ah, more like Forensics then? I didn't do that last year.

Garrett, never really doubted you would do fine at the new job. You WILL have your days, though...as all of us do. The kids will never stop learning, and neither do we.

We have a big debate raging here in Scottsdale...and it will come up at our Planning Commission hearing on September 1st. A church is wanting to add a school and a gymnasium. Neighbors are furious. Church members are writing letters and emails of how important Christian education is. I expect perhaps 100 or more at the hearing. As a member of the commission, I will have my own points to make. Wish you were here to coach me!!!

Keep up the great work, and remember to enjoy your job along the way. It is so important to like what you do.

Garrett, I never had any doubt that you would
do well. You see all of the support that you
have, here, and, know that we are ALL behind
you, 100%! You have a class who is blessed
to have you instructing them!

I have done a Lincoln-Douglas debate before. Those types can get fairly long/in depth. Given that I wasn't very good at them, nothing in english really, haha. Anyways I'm sure you will do great!!

 Actually I'm sure that might have been part of the problem. Nobody got along with our "coach", she just thought everybody should know what it is and how to do it. She didn't really coach us at all. So I'm sure if I had you as a coach we could have learned more!! :D
