Breaking News-Man with grenades attempts to hijack plane

#1 Postby southerngale » Tue Apr 01, 2003 12:26 am

46 passengers, crew believed to be aboard

A man claiming to be armed with two grenades tried to hijack a passenger plane from Cuba’s small Isle of Youth to the United States late Monday, but was forced to land in Havana because of insufficient fuel.

Authorities said they were negotiating early Tuesday to end a standoff with the man, who remained on the plane along with 46 other people, on a remote tarmac at the Havana airport.

That's all I know right now.
