Marshall, I just saw the names on a news site. It is so sad....they include brave US marines, a master Sgt from Ohio, a Sgt from Portland, Oregon...several young marine heroes from Texas :(

Among those now confirmed dead is a beautiful young mother from the state Arizona. Her name is Lori, and she's a native American...a Hopi indian. As agonizing as Jessica Lynch's story has been, Lori's is far sadder.

Jessica will eventually recover from her wounds..she's young, strong, and a fighter; she'll experience the joy of Christmas, the excitement of Independence Day, and IMO achieve her dream of someday teaching.
She'll also likely someday marry and have beautiful children of her own :)

Lori is gone. Her children will never see their mother alive again, never experience the comfort of a mothers loving hug. I know that pain, that feeling of loss on a personal level. It's an ache that never goes away...not when you lose a mother at age 16, 12, or 3. My mom's been gone over 25 years now, and I still break down sometimes because I miss her so badly...so does my sis. The worst part of losing a mother at a young age is all the things she'll miss, and all the things her children will experience without her.

I grieve because mom missed Christmas, my high school graduation...my sis grieves because mom wasn't there for her college graduation or her wedding day. We both tear up when thinking about Becky's three kids...they are such sweethearts. Mom loved children....she would have been the perfect grandmother. I have tears in my eyes as I type this just thinking about how much love Maddie, Nick, and Jacob have missed, and will miss from a sweet, loving grandmother named Fay they will never know

I weep today not because of Jessica. I instead grieve and weep in agony over a the scarifice and loss of a brave young mother from Arizona...a beautiful young hero named Lori

May God bless all our brave heroes lost in the name of freedom.
