New Proposed WTC Design

#1 Postby michaelwmoss » Sat Nov 13, 2004 4:29 pm

I love what these folks are doing with their proposal. I hope that they make it come to reality. I do not care for The Freedom Tower Proposal. That seems to simple and disrespectful for the people that died. They should rebuild the towers. Here is what they are proposing (Everyone who has a website ((Including S2K)) Should consider putting one of these logos on your site:

What do you guys think of these proposals or The Freedom Tower Proposal?

I like the alternate idea. It is more of a symbol of defiance and resilience than the freedom tower. The freedom tower is as much a monument to the architect as it is to the tragedy. MNYNY again.

i personally hate the freedom tower design, too.
I spent 5 weeks working at the top of the south tower at the beginning of 2001.
I had several aquaintances that perished and a couple of friends that have survived.
I will always have a special place in my heart for the real WTC.
I agree that it is a defiant act to rebuild like before.

I just hope that it is not rebuilt on the coast, as I do have concerns about what will happen to the city when a major hurricane does make it there due to it being the most storm surge prone area in the USA

I cannot agree more. I always said build them right back....maybe taller. I also think there should be an inflatable middle finger at the top that we inflate every 9/11!

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.

I like the new design (looks strinkingly familiar), which, in my opinion, is the correct way to go about the rebuilding effort.

THey may look the same as the previous towers, but there will be better technology (fireproofing, structure, elevators, stairways) which will make them safer.
