The only fish I seem to catch are what a friend of mine calls sea weed fish. You know the plants that floating in the water. I don't think they feel pain. If I catch anything and that is few and far between I release them. I won't stop fishing just because some report says that they feel pain. Just like I didn't stop eating meat because a cow feels pain.

Bronwyn, I know that...LOL

I have to wonder if your "bliksem" stick would hold up well compared to my old STL MPD "war club", aka "nightstick"...17" of hickory, 1 1/2" wide at the grip, tapering to 1" at the "business end", with a brass ferrule on the tip and a brass buttcap on the grip end; peculiar to St. Louis, as I have not seen the like anywhere else...it has the appearance of an upside-down baseball bat.

I've caught lots of stick fish. I don't think that they feel pain either.

My college roommate had a saying "no brain, no pain" He usually used it when you would do something really stupid, as if you wouldn't feel the pain you were causing yourself.
