Mary, the finale is only an hour. I almost had a stroke when I found out. I just don't know how it's going to all fit in. Remember: It's really only 43 minutes without commericals!

Rex seems too obvious to die... I really don't think it'll be him, but they are going to lead us on. I heard recently that he was the character who shot two scenes, so, it's possible, but I kinda doubt it.

It's not Mike... because I heard last week he's likely the only guy who is on there now to make it through the entire run of the show.

It's not Gabrielle. The writers are getting a new love interest ready for her next season.

If it's not Rex, It's Paul/Carlos/John. All three are in the opening credits, all three we have opinions about, good and bad. Remember when Carlos said "If you ever leave me for another man, I'll kill you?". He won't kill her because he wants that baby REALLY bad(he did change her birth control). Him and John will end up having a huge fight and one will wind up dead and/or seriously injured and that's the cliffhanger.

...and I have NEVER watched a soap opera. EVER.

BTW: If anyone is interested... the pilot will re-air on Sunday May 29th and the finale will air Saturday May 28th at 10pm ET.

Lordy! The 28th is my daughter's graduation party! The 29th is the graduation ceremony....heavens. I'll have to record it all somehow. Hope I don't forget! I'll be going in so many different directions that weekend....

Well, I hate to break it to ya Brent, but you are watching a soap opera now. LOL

I remember discussing Dallas and Knots Landing storylines at work the next day. Or if I couldn't wait, coworkers and I would be on the phone the second the show ended. Of course as you must know Dallas almost invented the season finale with Who Shot JR. Back then, people were discussing Dallas almost as much as they're discussing DH. Difference is the Internet. If message boards and websites had been around back then....wow, I was nuts for both shows!

I don't see how they're gonna fit it all in either, in 43 minutes. I would suggest to anyone watching the finale, to record it just in case you want to go back. I imagine the action will be moving very fast.

The finale first airs on the 22nd... the 28th is a repeat.

This past Sunday's episode and this coming Sunday's episode will air on Saturday May 21st from 9-11pm ET, the night before the finale.

I don't consider this solely a soap... it's NOT like the daytime ones my mom watches(I drop in every now and then and I HATE them). This has the funny edge to it that sucks me in. The scene with Felicia and Paul this past episode when Felicia said after "Since you murdered Martha and all... WOULD YOU LIKE A COOKIE?" was hilarious.

Brent - LOL I was just kidding around with you.

I've watched plenty of daytime soaps, years ago. They are very different from night-time soaps. People think Dallas was the first one but back in the 60s Peyton Place came along and actually has that claim. But Dallas kicked off a series of night-time soaps. First there's the debate between soaps and regular shows. Actors on daytime soaps aren't taken as seriously as those on evening shows. Then there was the whole daytime vs night-time soap thing, back in the 80s, early 90s. Night-time soaps were very different. You quickly became hooked (I was!). When awards time came around, if a night-time soap was nominated, you had non-soap viewers complaining.....well, it's just a soap afterall. Knots Landing should have had more nomination bids and wins than it did.

DH isn't quite a night-time soap. I'd say it's a hybrid - part Knots Landing, part Twin Peakes, part Northern Exposure. But the pace is what sets DH apart from all the others - it moves faster than any show I've seen before. These are all just my own opinions.

Spoiler speculation post...don't read if you haven't read the spoilers!

My first guess is John, since the spoilers said his fate was uncertain and
Gabby would get a new suitor. My second guess is Paul ("he gets the comeuppance he deserves?).

Did you hear about Eva Longoria making the top of Maxim's Hot 100 list?

Personally, she does nothing for me.

I've also heard NOTHING about him coming back next season....

new love interest for Gabby? If John is killed and Carlos is in jail, iit only makes sense.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but did you know that the role of Mary Alice was originally played by Sheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer in "Twin Peaks?" The role was recast after the show was picked up for additional episodes and the pilot was reshot with Brenda Strong (the presently "dead" narrator Mary Alice).

Or should that be "narratrix?" :)

Yes... the original pilot(the one ABC saw and decided to pick up the show) had her in it.

It also had a different Rex and John!

Yeah me either. You're about to say - and if she did, I'd be smacking ya....LOL Seriously, what is the big deal about this actress? Now on Knots Landing, Donna Mills was gorgeous, anyone could see it (still is to this day!). But she played a nasty character, similar to Gabby. You still loved to hate Abby/DM. Although Gabby isn't stealing husbands, just collecting gardeners.....anywho, I just don't get what all the fuss is about his actress either. I don't even love to hate her character, I find her character - BORING!

I love all this trivia we're digging up. Didn't realize there was a different Mary Alice in the pilot. Wouldn't you all like to see the original pilot? That would be great to see!

I used to have a link to the opening for the original pilot(where Mary Alice walks out and then kills herself). The DVD for the 1st season is coming out in September and while it's not been formally announced, I'm hoping the unaired pilot will be included(it's going to have extended, unrated episodes and scenes too hot for TV) :)

Yeah, the pictures are small, but if you look hard enough you can make stuff out. If you need some help, send me a PM. I've been studying some for weeks(the first 5 are new).

I see what appears to be Mary Alice with a younger Zach in an obvious flashback.

Yes... looks like as they move to Wisteria Lane.

There will also be a flashback to the night Deidre was killed and to when Felicia and Angela were working as nurses.

Two funny comments to make about DH.

First the street name - Wisteria Lane. Whisper it, it's spooky to say. I think of the word mysterious when I think of Wisteria. A friend on another board thinks of hysteria when she hears it. Whatever, it's a perfect choice for a street/neighborhood name b/c if they had chosen a simple USA name like Maple Street, it just wouldn't sound the same at all. And imply other words.

What word do you think of when you hear Wisteria? It is unusual for a street name, you have to admit.

Second, I keep thinking of David Letterman making a huge deal out of this show. He apparently talks about it all the time and has nicknamed the show - Careless Housewives. So when Susan is doing another goofy thing, I think of her as a careless housewife!
