Can somebody find some matches??? :?: :?: :?: We need to light a fire in the cooker to warm it up out here!!! Either that or I'm going back inside by the PBS!!! I may have to ask for Granny's Afgan if it gets as cold as they predict here on Sun. and Mon.!!! We're talking low 30's!!

Busy day over at the P-in-laws fixing things! Then had to get my sssllllooowwwlllyyyy leaking tire fixed. It took an hour and there was one other car in the shop????? At least it is fixed now and it was free!

Tomorrow I'm up early to help one of our congregations mentally challenged members move and then up to the church to put together a TV table for the big TV that nearly fell on the pastor yesterday!! Good thing he is 6'5" and strong enought to catch it!!! It is at least a 36" flat screen!! I may go to the races with the son tomorrow night so I don't know if I will make chat or not.

Well that's about it from Houston for tonight! Till we meet again....

Howdy ya'll. The front porch was almost on the second page so I thought I should bump it back up to the top.

Cold day today...I am headed out for the evening with some friends. I will be back later.

Take care everyone!

Jacki...you work? LOL..j/k! ;)

I had a great time tonight. Glad that Daniel called me up and told me he was in town. I hadn't seen him since May of last year when he was in town for his sister's graduation.

It is late (especially for me) but I am still wide awake. I guess I should catch up on all the posts I missed.

Talk to ya'll later.

Sorry about that Garrett. I mistyped wife, rather than girlfriend. :)

I edited my post [on page 10] in reference to this. 8)

Warmer Days Ahead...

#170 Postby azskyman » Sun Mar 30, 2003 9:29 am

Looks like warmer days ahead for you Midwesterners and those along the Ohio Valley and into the Plains. Jet stream will string itself out and hang farther north. Summer is slowly winning the battle of the calendar.

83 here today, I suspect. Near perfect by my book. Unlike you folks, though, I am counting the days "outside" until I'll be spending the summer mostly "inside" so I must finish outside projects sooner than later...a little more painting today. Had the A/C and the pool mechanically checked out, so will be ready for that first 100-degree day.

Typically, I turn on the a/c on April 15th and turn it off on Halloween. Rarely use either heat or a/c during the rest of the year. A little kick of the furnace in the morning, but that's about it.

So as we look ahead to April, most of you become anxious by the tease of 70-degree days. It was not a brutal winter for most...but a pretty good one nonetheless....and you have reason to celebrate by getting outside and enjoying the warmth of springtime sunshine.

Be safe when you do so. And smile toward the sun.

Thanks ColdFront! :)

Glad you stopped by Azskyman! We bottomed out at 26º this morning, but have already recovered to 40º. The forecast is only calling for highs near 45º, but I think we will get warmer than that.

Looks like there will be great weather to hang out on the Front Porch as the week progresses here...highs every other day this week are expected to be 65 or above!!! :multi:

Good morning, all!

Temps about the same here, Garrett. I'll have to cover
flowers and tender plants, again, tonight, then, it looks
like temps are going to start warming up on in the week.

Going to Mom's for lunch, today - yum!

Everyone have a great Sunday!

May have to take a snooze in the hammock if it warms up enough. It's 51 here now but the winds a blowin' across a beautiful crytal clear blue sky. Supposed to get up to 60.

What a difference a day makes.

Yesterday, it was 86°, and today...well, it's now 49º and light rain continues. A 37º temperature difference!!!!

Yesterday, it was beautiful to sit out on the front porch. Today, an ol' bonfire is needed! ..

I agree Stormsfury. Here, yesterday, we had Sun and a few showers with a high of 76º. Today, our high was about midnight (41º). Right now, we sit at 30ºF with snow. And they are calling for anywhere from 4 to 12 inches of the stuff.

I had to work on Saturday morning and I noticed it was snowing out (I lifeguard the opening shift on Saturday's and then I get in the pool and teach swimming lessons)... the yard pool is where the windows are...so you could plainly see the snow falling at a good clip. Temperatures struggled to make it to 35* It was definitely a huge change from the day before!

As for today, flurries have been gracing us all throughout the day...currently 37* out with on and off flurries

Marquette is going to the FINAL FOUR!!! We Are Marquette! The is the first time Marquette has reached the Elite Eight/Final Four since the late coach Al McGuire. Somewhere, Coach Al is smiling in his grave! They put on a clinic over Kentucky. I give Keith Bogans (Kentucky) for playing with a high ankle sprain...he had a good game when he was not on the bench. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee was rockin' after the Marquette game last night!

Image

Guys and Gals along the East Coast...that is the stuff that pounded us. Michigan Tech University in Houghton, MI had about 12" of snow.
