Suzi Q wrote:Thanks all, I am REALLY looking forward to the new baby. I've had this same clunky monitor for 8 years so will be in shock to see the cute flat panel. Went with 512 of ram, upgraded free to a 120 hard drive, 128 graphics card for SOMEONE to play their silly games with. Just received confirmation that ship date is now 3/31 ( ) but I'll hope it's like ya'll have said and much sooner. In the meantime, I'll just drool over the specs. Hubby is SO happy, when he got home this morning I told him "Dude, you're getting a Dell! " Thought he was gonna faint since he's been after me to do this since um, BEFORE CHRISTMAS????? Plus with him becoming an indy contractor, can we say TAX WRITEOFF???????

Oh and yeah, I got the free shipping and the rebate.
Mine came in two days. You will really enjoy it. I am so happy for you suzi :)

Dell has been having deals for several weeks now... it seems to me that they keep extending their specials; eventually they should be less often than the last four or so months.

We got the service package as part of our order; in any case, if you decide to sign up for it, the 24/7/365 service is worth every penny!

TRUST me on this...and, BTW, do NOT install the Norton firewall (advice from our resident PC guru).

I prolly went against the service pack since I have a soon-to-be-ex-son-in-law who's a computer guru, not to mention that daughter is ONCE AGAIN dating another computer guru (she will never learn).

But thanks for the advice on the Norton. I'll DEFINITELY do as you said on that one!

I (my mother, but on a much limited basis) really like Dell Computers. (my father doesn't know the first thing about computers and doesn't care to.)

However, she [my mother] said she doesn't want to get a Dell again... after paying a bit more several days (after sending it out in time, but they apparently received it a day or two late)... a bill for I believe $8.49 came in this week.
