Well you all sound very much as real online as offline, especially you Steve ... you 28 y/o blond!

I'm usually quiet ... the one that sits back and takes it all in, which is probably why I'm still only a cat 1 after a year at S2K. :D I'm very easygoing and pretty much am known for having an "overabundance" of patience (according to my husband). My mom says they must've given her the wrong baby at the hospital, since I come from a long line of worriers.

My biggest beef about myself is making a decision, even minor ones. I always have to investigate and weigh every option carefully. I'm a royal pain in the neck ordering at a restaurant!
But a die hard weather freak!!!!! :lightning:

Donna...maybe you have never been to a Cheesecake Factory, but their menu has chapters. You arrive early so you can work your way through the preface, the foreward, the appetizers, and then pages of options for the main course. Take the day if you go to one. A couple hours won't do it for you.

...and you love weather too?

I am reluctant to reveal much about myself because I had it ingrained in me from an early age not to talk about myself too much. I like to reveal myself through my actions, or indirectly through my words, and I take pleasure when someone notices. I go through my writing and try to eliminate the word "I" as much as possible. This post is going to have way too many I's for my liking.

While there are many absolutes, there are also many abiguities. I see many things in shades of gray, when others are digging their heels in. I can honestly say that I don't have any enemies. I try to understand where someone is coming from and feel that I can learn something from anyone. Everyone has a story to tell and I enjoy listening.
But if someone is totally "out there," I'll make a graceful exit and not bother with them anymore.

I tend to trust strangers in everyday affairs, to give them a chance to do good. However I am very slow to warm up to someone emotionally. I've been called cold and unemotional, but I feel that's because the other person is not giving me a chance to reveal myself, or because I feel that they can't be trusted. Some people wear their emotions on their sleeves, but I'm not like that.

All the above happy talk sometimes breaks down around family, because I get overloaded from hearing everyone's problems/needs/wants. My kids tell me that I can be mean, indifferent, and slow to respond. That is really my defense mechanisms kicking in, because when I am emotionally overloaded I can't deal with it. At the same time, I've been told (by older people) that I have the patience of a saint. I am trying to guide my kids to independence and thinking for themselves, so they don't need to go to someone everytime. I hope that someday they get the revelation and appreciate why I can be like that. They know that when they really need something, they can count on me. I'd rather be that way than be someone who promises everything and doesn't deliver.

I am extremely independent minded. I like to do things myself, at my own pace, in my own way, and without anyone's help.

I enjoy getting time to myself and my thoughts. I don't want people around me all the time.

I don't rush into things. I plan, and weigh the costs and benefits before making a move. I really am careful about what I ask for.

My wife says that I analyze everyone and everything. She is the opposite of all of the above. In our case opposites attracted. It certainly makes things interesting.

I am a very quiet in person, but very nice. Unfortunately am misunderstood quite a bit. A big reason is because of my Asperger's Syndrome.

I am also neutral on most issues, except for a few generally political ones. It isn't always easy being in the middle of something when you agree or disagree with both sides.

LOL Steve! :A: The closest Cheesecake Factory is (fortunately) in Indianapolis, 3 hrs away, which a couple months ago I visited and had the most incredible Snickers cheesecake! I've never had any real food there, only dessert. Lucky for me there was a long wait; I needed that much time to decide.

Ed, Thanks for the rare and revealing look into the mind and character of coriolis of S2K. I would like to add that I very much enjoy your sense of humor. And btw, congrats on your 421 miles so far! :fantastic:

Ed... I enjoy reading your posts so very much. I am much like you in some ways... especially my alone time. I would much rather be alone than be around a large group of people most of the time.

Same here. I am a mediator. I don't like it when people don't get along. If you are loyal to me, you have a friend for life. Treat me like trash, you better look out.

I don't know, I guess I'm a Mom most of the time. I love nurturing, helping and understanding. Now like most Mom's I'm also very strong willed and sometimes can be a pain in the butt. I am honest, sometimes to a fault, and will defend the values that I believe in and and have been taught. Deception, dishonesty and lack of loyalty makes me furious. I will defend my family and friends no matter what it takes. By the way, I love Jesus and he loves me !!!!! Oh, he love you too!!!!! :D

We sound like two peas in a pod! I could have written that myself :)

I will add that Im a huge jokester and love a good laugh often at the expense of myself.

I am a nice and somewhat funny person, but I get moody when my pain acts up. I try to do the best I can whether it is at work, in my band or at home. A perfectionist I guess. I have been told I have a difficult personality, but that is because I don't like being corrected or told what to do. I am always dependable, on time and dislike procrastination. I enjoy competing against other people in whatever activities I can. I have lived alone most of my adult life and being married is new to me. I am learning to cohabitate and compromise on a daily basis. By biggest fault is being extremely gullible. I am very secretive and never betray other people's confidential things they tell me.

I can be gullible at times too HurricaneGirl. But instead of looking at it as a fault, look at it as a positive. You have faith in the good of people and are willing to trust them. Too bad there's people out there who will take advantage of this noble characteristic.

I'd smack ya for that, Garrett, only I think we disagree on what that is. :)

Besides, I'm not a violent duck.
