Don't eat out everyday! Buy food that you can cook at your place. That is one way we save money when we go to the beach.

Same here, on the first day we get there we just make a trip to Super Wal-Mart and buy groceries for the whole week. (Although the Super Wal-Mart is Destin and FWB are veerrryyy crowded).

We do too. However, we take the basics with us (e.g. salt, pepper, seasonings, oil, mayo, mustard, coffee, creamer, sugar, etc.) I also double batch some things we really like in the weeks before we leave and take them also. Not only saves money, saves meal prep time.

That is what I am doing. I am going to buy sandwich stuff, chips, maybe a couple of cheap frozen pizzas, mac n cheese. Cheap stuff like that. I only plan to eat out a couple of times. I definitly want to go out to eat at Fudpuckers. And maybe just one other place (maybe a buffet because it is cheaper). There is also cheap alternatives like Wendy's or Taco Bell. And I am not paying anyone else's way but my own. If my aunt does not have the money, she will just eat sandwiches or put her meal on her credit card if she has to. That is what she did for the cruise. When we went on our cruise, I paid for our cabins. It ran my credit card bill up to almost $1700. I paid it off when I got my income tax money and it gave me excellent credit rating. My aunt did pay for her excursions plus mine since I paid for the room. (the excursions cost $300 for her and I) And I actually came home with $300. I put $10 in the nickel slots the very first night and won $200 in about 10 minutes. Just first night cruise luck I guess. My aunt won $100 on the last night since they pulled her name out of a drawing. And she gave me the $100 she won since I paid for most of our trip. My bill on the cruise was only $152 for 7 days and I quickly paid it off as soon as I got home.

Great ideas. We have done that too, bacon, eggs, bread, hamburger, buns, french fries, pops, food you would cook at home. Sandwiches are good to make. You could buy enough groceries for a week that would cost two people to eat out for two days. Two days of eating out for two people would buy your groceries. And you don't have to tip either.

Destin is wonderful but not in July or August. You should wait until or so. It is hotter than you know what here right now. And the beaches are not so great due to all the storm activity. Lots of damage right now. Maybe you should reconsider...
