Cirie - Oh I'm so scared of what's under those leaves...what a joke IMO! How she ever got chosen in the application screening by Burnett and/or Probst is beyond me!

Eric

I agree! I thought for sure it would be Cirie........but they voted out ms. lumberjack! wow she had a head of hair huh?

and we have an x astroutaunt on board..in the older guys.........this should be a very interesting survivor..........those younger guys dont have a clue!!!!!

and having to stay on that exile island alone is pretty freaky if you ask me! i cant wait till someone finds the immunity idol!!!!

man and the guy who smokes 3 packs of cigs a day.......whoa....

And Dan confiding with the fighter jet guy...Hey can you keep a secret? Well, see I used to work for NASA (thinking this way I can really pull a Gary without actual word getting to the other guys beyond the fighter pilot!).

I wonder how Shane managed to pass the application process screening with his health in check smoke-wise?

You read my mind. The first thing they do when they get to camp is not find a place to build a shelter, gather supplies, look for water, no it's play a game... and then Aras had that stupid meditation junk to make their hands stronger. Where on earth do they get some of these people from?

What a great start! Sometimes I wish we didn't know so much about Survivor. For instance, how cool would it have been to not know there'd be 4 pre-determined gender/age tribles? Shocking really! But if they didn't give spoilers like this away, maybe ratings would go down....

My least favorite so far - Cire, afraid of leaves! Girl, you'd better hurry back to your couch!!! I could not believe someone would elect to be on Survivor and have a fear of leaves. You know she's afraid of a lot more if she's mentioned leaves. Wait until she needs to use that wooded latrine a good number of times......yep, I thought she was a goner. Dang if they didn't vote off the one member who knew what the heck she was doing! She's our Wanda but I was just starting to like Tina. Went way too fast.

Sunny - I'm trying to find my Tom again and it's hard. Shane kinda looked interesting until he said he was a 3 pack a day smoker - yikes! He's going to be a major mess. Heck, I'd be going thru caffeine withdrawals about now and they wouldn't be pretty. But nicotine? That's going to be just brutal.

Those younger men are a real joke. Something I wouldn't have predicted at all!

What you'd all think of the girl exiled saying she looked for the immunity idol "enough"? Liar, from the get-go!!!!

Mary,

Wait until Cirie has the MOTHER of all tests in the game...a stay ALONE for a while on Exile Island...

LOOK OUT FOR THAT SNAKE CIRIE!!!!

I frankly don't see how Shane would have been an electee for the show either given his 3 pack a day health!

Voting Tina off like that had to be one of the dumbest tribal council votes ever and hope that decision won't come to bite the older women in the behinds in the long run!!

Yep, that was the dumbest decision ever made in tribal. Tina hadn't even had a chance to tick anyone off yet! And Cirie did! Let's see who do I want on my tribe - a work horse or a woman afraid of leaves? It's a no-brainer folks!

Looks like there's a tribal merge next week.....

They ought to put Cirie with the younger men tribe!
She could be their "Coconut League" team nurse since she's an RN!
Surprised she's a nurse...apparently she's not afraid of needles or the sight of blood.

No Eric, actually every fish I have scaled, which has been quite a few the head is still on. I guess either way would work, but we always scaled the fish first, then cut off the head, then clean the insides out. And I kinda got the whole turtle thing, how it was kinda ironic. BUT, I think if it wasn't stinking yet it would have been turtle soup for dinner. Duh.

And ewww I wish they had voted off Ms. Scary leaf, she is a joke, and was not very strong in that swimming challenge(no surprise there). Drives me crazy how they do that, get rid of the best player. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb! Oh well hopefully it bites them in the butt next week. I hope there is no merge I want those 3 to suffer some with that decision they made. I think they may switch some players but no merge.

It would just seem humane for fish...if they were processed with the head swiftly removed first. It's like dressing a catfish...those suckers seem to take forever to DIE when my Dad used to catch and process them.

"Dancing with the Stars," 11.8/18, actually beat the debut of "Survivor: Panama -- Exile Island" (10.7/17) in households, although the CBS show led in viewers and adults 18-49. "Will & Grace," 5.1/8, and "Four Kings," 4.6/7, put NBC in third for the hour. An hour of "That '70s Show" on FOX edged The WB's "Smallville," 3.3/5, for fourth. UPN trailed with "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Love, Inc."

ABC is REALLY going to miss Dancing when it ends February 23rd.

Yea Eric, I think they still feel it regardless, there nerves take forever to "die". I can still remeber as a kid after we would catch a dozen or so looking in the brown paper bag on the floor where we would put the heads, they would still be moving, trying to breath long after the fish were cleaned and put on ice. I see you point though. :D

TV Guide's Friday morning Watercooler critique.....

http://www.tvguide.com/TV/Watercooler/

Survivor: Panama — Exile Island
The tribe splits were interesting, and I already love Cirie — she really hated being tossed in the "old" group! But Jeff Probst told a lie right off the bat, touting Exile Island as having "a twist like never before." Sorry Jeff, does the name Janu ring a bell? Poor Misty, she should have just let Danielle take the fall for losing that reward challenge. Those skulls they smashed need to be patented as a stress-relief desk toy. Great, I think I just gave Mark Burnett an idea to make even more money. I did think Misty's strategy of lying about the idol would have worked, had the young women not kicked serious butt in that immunity challenge. And even though the Casaya tribe of older women lost, I think the younger-men's tribe is in the most trouble. Playing baseball instead of building a shelter? Austin seemed almost proud that none of them had a clue. Bobby is already the nickname master of the season; I cracked up when he called the older women the "Golden Girls" and the younger women the "Spice Girls." How long before snarky Shane starts burning twigs as substitute cigarettes? He is totally out of his element, but I think the rest of the older-men's tribe is in it for the long haul, especially the "flyboy" alliance of Terry and Dan. Between Aras ("feel the energy off my hands") and Courtney ("the turtle represents Mother Earth"), this first episode felt more like "Survivor: Burning Man Island" than Exile Island. Wonder if those two will be this season's hookup? I was dismayed at the ending — hardworking Tina takes a minute to mourn the death of her 16-year-old son, and the others plot to oust her. Just what does Melinda add to the tribe, anyway? Have these women never watched Survivor? They should keep the workhorses around for strength and dump the dead weight first. Unless there is some kind of merger where they can get some numbers on their side, I don't think the Casaya Tribe is long for the game. Next week Shane has a nicotine-withdrawal-induced freak-out and wants to quit the game. In Burnett-inspired misdirection editing terms, that means he's probably making it to the final four. — Ken McGilvray

Why didn't the Golden Girls vote off Melinda? Talk about useless; she didn't dig for clues OR try to figure out the puzzle in that IC. I read an article where Jeff Probst said that Melinda was the first contestant ever who had her acrylic nails done before going on the island. Acrylic nails?! At least Cirie cleaned the fish; I think Melinda would not want to mess up her nails doing that.

Aras is going to make me laugh throughout his stay, I think. Pure unintentional comedy. What an airhead. He has a website., and describes himself as follows (no joke):

http://www.myspace.com/arasb

language founders in such seas but i'll give it a try anyways....I am learning, certainly a work in progress. Or maybe a work in regress, trying to get back to that blissful state I had as a newborn. Selfish. Flashes of brilliance contrasted with unmitigated short sightedness. Up and down and then back up again. A bit conceited. Smiles, lots of smiles. On a quest for acceptance, I've finally stumbled upon a man perhaps capable of giving it to me...myself. I'd love to say I am Love. I am Love. I loved that, I should say it more often. I am Love. It doesn't get old. You try it..go on, say it, say "I am Love". You are, you know...No glossy finish here, just the sand paper texture of my life. Not that I wouldn't want to convince you otherwise. This about me thing is so interesting because giving an honest effort to answer the prompt brings up so much. I see how badly I want to paint a pretty picture, but then I see how many ugly things I have to paint to make the picture complete. I guess thats the point, ugly or pretty, this picture i'm painting is just that, a picture. And truth be told, I am no picture. I am Love...remember?

And even though he is seeking fame and fortune through a reality show, he says "television is the opiate of the masses" when asked about his favorite TV show. Pretentious, hypocritical and flighty? Good source for laughs.

Guess TV Guide means he's going to conquer his demon? And become stronger for it? Watch the man do just that and go on to write health related self help book!

I have a question...Jeff told the girl stuck on Exile Island that he gave her the clue(s) as to where to find the Immunity Idol. What did he mean by that? We were trying to figure that out. And have no idea what he's talking about! What clue or clues?

Thanks.

I'm still trying to get a handle on the tribe names. Right now I have to say gender and age.
