Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well and all prepared for the 2006 tornado and hurricane seasons. I thought I had my act together until an F3 came barreling through my town at 2am last November. Wish I knew then what I know now, kind of thing.

I just got back from a 10 day road trip with my parents who live down in Tampa. It was awesome!! (except for each time we had to fill the gas tank  ) My husband and kids stayed home and ate junk food all week. Everyone was happy.

Man, we live in one big and beautiful country! We started in Tampa, then drove across I-10 through all the hurricane damaged areas, including a brief sidetrip through Gulfport and New Orleans. Spent Easter weekend with family in Trinity, TX about 70 mi north of Houston. Went to San Antonio, did the Riverwalk and Alamo. Drove out I-10 again through west Texas and cut through New Mexico, spending the night in Roswell. Now those people are outta control. :1: The whole town is decked out in alien stuff, including the McDonald's, Walmart, and streetlights which are painted to resemble alien heads. It's a blast!

Santa Fe is one of the most beautiful places I've seen, comparable to Sedona. Drove up the mountains and took pictures of my Floridian parents standing in snow in their shorts. Drove back across I-40 on the Texas caprock. Breathtaking! Hoping for a supercell to fire up; nuthin'. Saw a bunch of ghost towns. Arkansas is pretty also.

We logged 12 miles shy of 4000. Experienced 109º one day and 38º the next. Everything was a feast for the senses. We hope to do it again next year and see some other places we've never been. Hopefully gas prices will cooperate by then.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Nah, it looks like I may end up staying here as long as a couple minor details can be worked out. :) I shall keep you guys informed on those. ;)

Thanks for the happy birthday wishes, I appreciate them. Only a few hours left now! ;)

I had my last cavity and deep cleaning done today. It hurt; but not as bad as I thought it would. (Thank God.) I have to go back one final time for a polishing on one tooth that is giving me problems, then that should be it.

I don't know how much I'll be checking in... yup, Keesler, here I come. I passed one portion of the testing... the reclassification test! That was a pain, but still successful.... now to the REAL story... The flight physical. I can only do what is available this month... have to go back in June to talk with the Flight doc.

Finally got rid of my car.... yup, it was a nice car when I had it... now I'm drivin' in a Mazda6! oooohhhh lalalala...... zoom, zoom, zoom! :D :D :D :D

Joshua - wishing you a wonderful Birthday!

Hey all - I may not have much time to be online for a while. We have a lot of family committments and very important chores to do around here. We still have a temporary black flexible hose hooked up to our sump pump pipe - it's been sitting on top of my grass in the back yard for 2 weeks now. We suspect the underground exit pipe is clogged, cracked and/or useless. We had torrential rains Easter weekend and it all backed up. Now of course the water is taken away from our foundation and the temporary rig-up is working great. But unsightly (thank goodness it's the back yard!). I have a next door neighbor that calls in a contractor or professional constantly, to even pull weeds, trim, edge their mulch. Yes you read that right. I haven't been making eye contact with him. He's probably shocked we haven't gotten to this job in 2 weeks. We only packed and help move a family member last week!

Anyway, I usually pop in here a lot more than I have lately. I'll hopefully have more time next week to say hi.

Have a nice weekend all!

Brent - I hope you win MOTM! I was quite honored to nominate you!

I'm sitting here in this hammock chair, swinging away, waiting for one of
Furry's mint juleps! YEAH! Pojo, I'd be honored to share the hammock
chair with you, dear - help yourself when you like!

Donna, wow - that had to be such a fun trip! I love changes in weather like
that. I remember driving through HEAT just west of Winslow, AZ on I-40, and
seeing snow-capped mountains of Flagstaff, in the distance - that was weird for
this TN girl! Had the A/C on, driving toward - snow?

LOL, Miss Mary, I remember you telling about that neighbor of your's - pays
for everything - fingers don't touch manual yard labor - must be a surgeon -
must be NICE!

If I'm not on here much, don't worry - I'm out in the yard 'til dark! I'm
enjoying being outside - and, that darn front porch STILL needs
painting!

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Join in on the fun, here, CapeVerdeWave! We just kick back and enjoy
each other's company, and, talk about what we've been up to, lately!
Hope your Mom has a great birthday!

I used to LOVE to go fishing - didn't even care if I caught anything. I just
enjoyed listening to the water and nature. I actually have caught fish - LOL -
usually catfish or bass. It just seems that I haven't has time to do that,
lately.

Thank you, Annette! I hope my mom does, too! I am still waiting eagerly for my parents to come back with the food and cake!

I have always wanted to go fishing off southeast Florida, especially in deeper areas such as the Gulf Stream and "blue holes" and passages in the Bahamas. I also like fishing at the local piers at Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach. I wish I could start to do it more often! Does it sound nice to you? I agree... I enjoy just being around in nature, out in the ocean, or on the piers. It feels nice, especially with the Bahamas/Spanish/English chatter always nearby!

What about you? What have you done today, breeze? By the way, can I share your hammock?

Thanks for sparing the seat, Annette! My parents are home now, and my mom is getting some of the food ready! YUM!

Interesting on the sales shopping you did... I suspected you would enjoy it!

By the way, do you like staying out late or watching sunsets? I do, especially from the hammock here!

Well, we had a simple and great birthday for my mom last night! I just sung and had some cookies afterwards, but it was wonderful time together! My mom got my card, too.

I'm just back from church... what's up?

Long time no see! As usual, I don't know which way is up or down or sideways.....I swear, the worse the economy gets the crime rate goes up 10 FOLD

Donna, whatta WONDERFUL roadtrip with the exception of gas prices as you said! Yeah......now you can see why we go to Taos, Santa Fe and Albuequrque every October, it's a WONDERFUL place......once again, we are getting the bug to move and are thinking about Northern New Mexico once again, it's SO beautiful and housing prices are a dam sight CHEAPER than Northern Arizona!

Well......back to school  LOL!

Well... I don't want to go into detail about my adventure to Keesler... I'll try to give you the readers digest version

There are two full time people in the 403d ASTS (Reserve Aeromeds)... one's the queen of DNIF (not able to fly) and the other, everyone loves... well, I got the queen of DNIF.... (FIRST... told me that I can't do a physical during the week, which you can, but you can't see the doc).... then who yells at me for handcarrying my medical records (I was told to by a med capt)... and then states I didn't have what I needed for the doc (Which I DID! Same capt stated that everything was there that I needed!) and then that I have to see my doc up here for a statement on why I'm on migraine drugs and the sciolosis degree of curve in my spine is over a certain point.... I don't its don't ask don't tell, but we are going to try to pull some strings about the meds saying that they are ONLY temporary... and that the sciolosis in my back is unmeasurable (truthfully it is!) :grr:  :grr:

****FYI... the DRIVE to Keesler was on my OWN dime! *****

Hopefully I didn't confuse anyone... I'm just a little pissed right now. All that drive for just a interview and to see the planes. (and to see Warren Madden for a brief time... he had a training flight) :D

Anyways yea, hopefully, when I go down to base on Fri that I can get some of my lab work done and the x-rays.

Biloxi is still a mess....... words can't explain the damage...... homes, businesses all reduced to rubble... personal items still washing up on the beaches (flags, dolls, clothing, etc) Lighthouse is ok, slightly damaged. Bridge from Biloxi to Ocean Springs still not open... Memorial (Katrina) is brand new... ABC Makeover thing... and the Veterans Memorial across the street is in good shape however there is a crack in the mural and some purple heart pictures are missing. :( :( :( :( :( :(

Shannon, it sounds like you might be the person intended on confusing!
Good grief! It always makes me upset when dealing with medical facilities,
and, as, I say - "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing"!
Glad 'ya got to see Warren Madden, anyhoo.

Have a relaxing swing in the hammock chair - it'll rest your body and mind!

Hey, everyone! My new pool on my backyard is almost finished. They are putting on the surfacing and putting in a few pipes soon. After this, the water will come in at last! It will be great to swim without going to the (albeit nearby) beach!

We have nice new landscaping in the back. It's gorgeous... it almost looks like hotel grounds! There is a Pygmy Date Palm on the southeast corner of the backyard, and low and tall shrubs and flowers and Areca Palms now surround the front and backs of my house. Isn't this great?

I'm just trying to cover my tracks right now... this medical thing has the Hurricane Hunter guys in shambles also.... Oh, Believe me... I did point out the 18 hour drive from Wi to Keesler...... yea that was fun! (without back pain I may add!!!! New Car does wonders!) :D :D :D I'm just tryin to get what I can situated here back at my home station... that way it may cut back on a drive/flight down to Keesler.
