Wow, I never expected them to release pictures of them dead. Just need to see Bin Laden's and Saddam's and I'll be all smiles.

I don't wanna be gross or make anyone sick. But there's definitely a lot of disfigurement in the face when someone receives a gunshot wound to the head. Blood and spinal fluid fill the cavities of the skull as well as seep out of the ears, nose, eye sockets, and so forth. Sometimes the eyes get swollen and black. A single bullet to the temple does a lot more than one hole going in and one hole going out. He certainly received more than a single bullet.

OOHH You are right AFLAC barf!! lol. But that does make alot of sense. I just do not see how he could have committed suicide and still receive fire while on the ground or even slumped in a chair. If he did have more than one bullet hole other than in the temple then how can they say he committed suicide? I have a hard time believing that all that disfigurement occurred from a single gunshot wound to the temple.

#32 Postby Aslkahuna » Thu Jul 24, 2003 3:40 pm

The reports I've read are that one of them committed suicide rather than be captured. Apparently there were 10 TOW anti-tank missles as well as .50 caliber guns used. That's on top of all the normal small arms fire. That amount of fire power could account for some of the other damage seen in the photos.

And, ya gotta know that Al Jazeera, Al-Arabi, and Abu Dhabi TV was "all over" CENTCOM for showing these, citing the U.S. outrage at the pictures of the dead (executed?) 507th Maintenance Company and two Royal Marines....but conveniently ignoring that this was done at the express outcry of the Iraqi people, who NEEDED to see their sorry carcasses "on display" to believe they were, in fact, dead and gone.

Can't have it both ways... But the poster who said that Arabs understand and respect only "show of force" was correct.

"Power perceived is power achieved".

We also have the liberals saying that we are being double standard showing these photos. Peter Jennings is the main liberal making a report on it, saying that we were all over Al-Jazeera for violating the Geneva Convention but yet we chose to show these photos. IMO.. the two are not the same!!

Peter Jennings is a joke and too liberal biased to even be a newscaster!!

This is the strongest evidence we have of Saddam Hussien himself and/or one if not both of his son's Uday and/or Qusay being "at least captured."

Qusay, the younger of the two, is easily discerned, even to the untrained eye; Uday, on the other hand, appears to have shot himself in the face or from the throat upwards (note the "squashed" appearance of his features), yet he is still recognizable.

A poll of Iraqis shows that 50% still don't believe they're dead (I suppose they want them out in the street? :o ), while 40% accept the photo evidence, backed by medical and dental records, plus I.D.'d by former Saddam big-wigs.

The remaining 10% were "unsure", or didn't respond.
