I have popped in to the "party thread," Joshua... it does say and "Brave Men." I don't have much to add to the fast paced conversations in there, however I have been catching up on the happenings in there the last two nights.

No "bar scenes" for me....still dry after 22 years and counting.

Had a small fire in the house this afternoon; seems "firehead" was just a little hasty in emptying an ashtray into the garbage can in the upstairs bathroom...smoke all over the place, but we have extinguishers on each floor, and emptied one on the trash can. :o

I'm still feeling a little weak, strange taste in my mouth...probably from the plastic and chemical fumes (I caught the brunt of the smoke and extinguisher spray). I couldn't even taste the pizza we ordered, and it's been over 6 hours now since we put it out.

I know, "go to the ER"...fat chance of that...

Annabelle 9she be a ho') is slumbering here next to her "Daddy" as I write this...alo most time to drop, so until tomorrow... :?

Streetsoldier, you tell Firehead to not take his name so literally!!! J/K You do know I am giving that at least a double meaning!!

Pojo, get better QUICK!!! You need to be 110% like you usually are for finals(coming soon to a University near you!). I see the drinks of choice don't change much over the years!

Josh, don't spend all that money in one place!!! Sounds like wonderful weather out there!

Well, It is WAY past my bedtime and I have to be up in time to go the church for a pancake breakfast!!

I HOPE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU HAS A BLESSED EASTER!

Good Saturday Morning to members of the Front Porch - its an overcast day here in Baytown. Looks like some showers to the North of us.

Another busy day here on the homefront - did all the yard and garden work yesterday - now its time to clean and polish the inside of the house. How does 5 loads of laundry sound.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter.

God Bless.

Good morning folks. Hope this Saturday finds Pojo with a clear head, streetsoldier with clear air in the house, and Joshua with clear sailing to the bank! And the rest of you finding ways to make the best of the weekend.

Am here in San Diego...actually about 20 miles or so inland from where Scott Pederson was arrested yesterday. Sun is shining this morning already, so it will be a nice day to enjoy.

Surprising an old friend of Kathy's at lunch today..someone Kathy hasn't seen in years. We're meeting up with her son and she doesn't know we're going to be there! Should be fun!

Have a nice Saturday...and beware of those storms in the central US. Could be some wild ones!

Good morning porcheronis!

streetsoldier and Annabelle (she be a hacking 'ho) ... come and take a deep breath of fresh air out here on the porch, and clear out those lungs. Glad you guys caught it in time. Maybe firehead has a future as a firefighter?

I'm with you ticka, doing the inside chores today. My folks are driving up from FL as I type. They're probably near the GA/TN border right now. Time to clean out all the junk I have stored in the guest room. It would be nice to be able to walk in there without tripping.

skyman - That sounds like so much fun! I love surprising people like that!

If I don't get online later ... Happy Easter everyone!!!! :D

Howdy everyone. Just dropping in for a few minutes. I am spending a lot of the weekend over at my mom's. Dad (actually my step-dad) won't be home for Easter so I am keeping her company!

Have a great Easter everyone...and if storms get real close and/or heaven forbid... cause damage, I will let you know!

Surprises...

#510 Postby azskyman » Sat Apr 19, 2003 10:47 pm

Hi all,

Got your message Dennis about your loss at church. Always a hole in the heart when a good friend, a longtime friend, moves on to better places. But then, it is good to know she is readying things for others in the same we she did here on earth.

We DID surprise Kathy's friend today. She could not believe it. We met up with her at Jake's on the beach in DelMar for lunch. They had a great time, and we laughed plenty about all we could find to enjoy.

Later this evening, while Kathy and I were staying with Emma, we took her to my cousin's place. You'd a been proud of the ol' skyman drivin' my girls through city traffic in Deborah's Ram 1500. I felt more like a pilot than a driver! But everyone got there safely. We laughed very much and enjoyed the company of family, too. Emma fell asleep as soon as we got home...and if I weren't typing this, I'd do the same!

Anyway...a nice day for us here in San Diego. Easter tomorrow. I get to cook brunch for 6! Hmmm..what's wrong with this picture?

Enjoy it folks.

"He is Risen..He is Risen, indeed!"

Tonight, I watched (as I hope many of us did) celebrations of hope, victory and thanksgiving as the five 507th Maintenence Company soldiers dismounted at Fort Bliss, and just now, the two Apache pilots were met by the 1st (Air) Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, TX...while a little, all-but-forgotten American female soldier is awaiting months, if not years of rehabilitation in Washington (I was, and am surprised that the returning 507th soldiers have made no mention of PFC Lynch, especially at her home base!), 450 more are also recovering...and 122 soldiers and Marines have answered the last roll call.

I was also reminded that April has not been kind to us in the last ten years; today was the anniversary of Waco (10 years) and The Oklahoma City (8 years) bombing, and tomorrow the fourth year, to the day, after the insanity at Columbine.

It is well that Easter comes to us on this most memorable, and infamous weekend; to recall that He Who even conquered death, that we may have eternal life, IS...and awaits the day that we, as His brethren, will all sit at His table, in the Presence of His Father, in praise and celebration.

He is Risen, indeed.

Happy Easter, Bill! :D

That's right, three unfortunate incident anniversaries on April 19th and 20th over the last several years.

Not only is it Easter... but the good 'ol Boston Marathon is Monday at Noon EDT, wheelchairs start at 11:45 AM EDT. The Boston Marathon is always on Patriot's Day, a holiday only observed in Massachusetts and Maine (Rhode Island oddly enough does not have mail service). Patriot's Day is always the third Monday in April, this year it is the latest it can be and last year it was the earliest it can be. Of course being the third Monday in April, this holiday falls between April 15th and April 21st.

It was a rather cloudy day here on Saturday. It could have been worse, but some of the cloud cover was gray and only a bit ominous. There were some isolated showers and it looked like it was going to shower more than it did. Temperature made it to 84 degrees Saturday afternoon. It is currently 68 degrees with the rising moon in the eastern sky. :)

I need prayers to be lifted for my mom. She had a kidney procedure done yesterday to radiate out some kidney stones and she had to go to the ER for 6 hours after coming down with a kidney infection Friday night. :(

On a brighter note ... I saw my friend Jennifer again Saturday night. She and another friend came and we ordered pizza to eat while watching the DVD Snow Dogs here at my place. Then we went to the store and bought mini containers of ice cream to eat. Good times for sure.

There are two reasons I am up so late: 1) I didn't take my morning meds until 1:45 pm, so now is the time to take my evening ones since they must be 12 hours apart; and 2) (sarcasm) I was getting ready to throw my friend's computer out the window after spending 3 hours trying to get the !@#$%^&*() DSL hooked up to it.(/sarcasm)

Must take my meds and catch some Z's. See you later. Have a happy Easter. Joshua

That is kewl Pawlee - I'll try it later. Just got back from Church - stayed up late doing the Easter Bunny thing and got up early and hid the eggs outside and woke up the little one to find all them... then we went to church and celebrated the REAL meaning of today. Making banana pudding and brocoli and rice casserole to take to my mom's for lunch and then to my in-laws for the more food to eat.

I hope everyone here on the Front Porch and Storm2k have a Joyful and Blessed Easter with what ever you are doing. - My prayers and thoughts are with ya'll!!!

Patricia

P.S. I ate the ears of the Easter Bunny already LOL - ROFL - I'm a mean mommy huh!!!

Good Afternoon

#517 Postby Constructionwx » Sun Apr 20, 2003 5:48 pm

I hope everyone had a great Easter.

We went to Sunrise Services this morning. You could really feel the spirit as Church began. I have to admit that on some Sunday's, it just ain't happinin' so to speak. But this was a very special service. Obviously, with it being Easter Sunday, there was a little more pomp and circumstance to it. But that wasn't it. This was a very moving service, in and of itself.

The music sounded better, and so did the singing. Our preacher was talking to me. My son, who is 10 months old, looked handsome in his little suit. My 5 year old daughter, never looked so beautiful. (it's always been "pretty" or "cute"). And in my Wife's eyes, I saw the same look that I did the day I met her. :D

For lack of a better description - and I mean this in a good way - It made my skin crawl !!

We are headed out to the Front Porch to watch it drizzle.

Got up at 1430, bored to death; ham served at 1600, ate a little. Philip hogging PC, wife hogging TV, "firehead" upstairs living in his "anime" world, Annabelle "whoring" as usual.

Hey, all! Went to Mom's for lunch with the family - (or, part
of them, anyway)...came home and planted flower seeds,
waiting on the rain, then, spent the evening riding out
some thunderstorms!

Tomorrow is Monday.... :o I want to hide from it....LoL!

Have a great night, all!
