WoW how fast a year goes by and I can't believe this thread is still going! I started it on January 20, 2005, just about 5 days from a year ago. And oh what a year it has been for us all here on S2k.
Kelly I am so glad you finally caught up now we can talk about it in the chat room some time and not be afraid to say something about it! j/k Also glad you are feeling better.
I think I want to go and rent the first episodes of this season since it was not long after Katrina and my "mind" was not really watching or paying attention even though I was sitting there looking at the TV. I think I still missed some things from reading all of the posts and tried to watch the reruns before they started back after Christmas but didn't really get to see the things I wanted to see. I called myself looking for that picture of Sayid on the TV in the background of Kate and her Dad but I didn't see it. They show some things so fast you really need your VCR or whatever to go back and see what you missed.
Well I just wanted to comment on how long this thread has been going and wonder if we could set a record with keeping it going till the show goes off the air?
Till the next episode of Lost......

Kelly - wow, you are strong girl! I would have peeked in here.
To say that we're crazy about Lost would be an understatement. Let's just say that last week the power flickered at 8:30 (30 minutes to showtime) and I was about to search for fresh batteries AND hubby's Sony Watchman, just in case.... everyone told me to get a grip and calm down. But it's LOST!!!!
Power stayed on, obviously......he he
Kelly - I think you might be right, maybe that isn't Walt. If there is any one observation I've learned to trust with Lost, it's that you can't trust the obvious.
Charlie carrying around heroin inside a Mother Mary statue - that doesn't mean he is using again!
Walt communicating with Michael - who's to say that is Walt!
Kate kissing Jack - well, her heart is torn. She does like Jack....but dang it, Sawyer too!
Oh heck there are more obvious assumptions that are completely false. Gotta check email and other topics.....but I LOVE this show!
Glad you started this thread way back in 2005 Mary....

Wow JQ - I hadn't noticed that. Nice find. Now hmmm
No kidding Mary (FLY Mary). Everytime someone mentioned LOST, I had to ask them not to say anything, but give me a chance to leave the room and talk away. Of course everyone says no...now we can talk about it!!
Yeah, I should start getting better. It's bronchitis and I had to get antibiotics - started them late Friday.
Miss Mary...I wouldn't dare. I had to avoid everything. I would have been more confused if I heard bits and pieces and didn't know everything anyway.
I hate spoilers though - I never read them. I want to be surprised. To me, that's like watching a ball game when you know who wins. lol
So...I will ask that if anyone posts spoilers in here, please say it in the top of the thread and leave some blank space to scroll down for those of us who don't want to see it.
Glad you came on board. I haven't been able to discuss this year's yet, but boy was I hunting Easter eggs over the summer. Stinkin' Rita!
Anyway, I'm convinved that really isn't Walt. It's the Others. Now that I'm caught up, I can browse the LOST boards once again. I have an entire bookmark titled LOST. lol

I solemnly promise to post any spoilers with a warning! How's that?
I don't care for spoilers much either.....especially when Friends was nearing the end. OMG, I was crying and it wasn't even May yet......so I understand.
JQ - interesting about the cars they both drove. Very. I've read posts on other boards, that if you watch episodes twice or more, you catch minor, but important details. Constantly. So as we're watching each week, I am looking and sometimes I miss dialogue too. So it does seem like fans need to watch twice.
Lost and How I Met Your Mother are my two must-see shows this year. Oh yeah, Two and a Half Men, not that the last two sitcoms are anywhere near the same as Lost.
Simply put, Lost is my new Dallas. Back in my Dallas days, I was absolutely crazy for that show. And I did not answer the phone or door. No way. I didn't even sit on the couch, I was usually 5 feet from the TV on the floor. Crying over something, Bobby and Pam breaking up or Sue Ellen drinking again....LOL And then calling friends within 5 minutes after it aired, to discuss the show. Discussing yet again at work the next day.
Thank God for message boards!!!
Mary
PS - here's a Lost board I read sometimes. And have posted on (under artichoke6). But I will warn you, fans from Day 1 are not so nice! Especially if you say the word - purgatory! Wowee, that one word will really stir them all up. There are basically 3 groups on that board, which is confusing but if you know it going in, then the topics and replies make sense:
#1 Day One Fans (who believe they are Lost experts by now).
#2 Fans who started watching late (Season 1, mid-season or over this past summer when ABC reaired the first season).
#3 UK fans since over there they are one year behind us. They are still watching Season 1.

I was thinking, I was reading the War of the Worlds the other day, and in the epilogue it states this: Neither is the composition of the Black Smoke known, which the Martians used with such deadly effect... I wonder if LOST's smoke makes reference to this, the "Black Smoke" on LOST kills things to, and the big movie War of the Worlds just got released to...maybe the smoke got screwed up by electromagnets and now as a mind of its own, protecting its property, like we do today...Maybe the U.S. gov't wants to use it as a weapon, but dont know how to take control of it, so until they do, the people in the hatch are told not to go outside or talk to anyone because the smoke could kill them, then the button doesnt get pressed, so the electromagnets shut down, causing the smoke to "die"
I dont know if this floats at all, but I was bored, so I came up with that!!!

Just a thought that flashed through my mind after watching LOST on iTunes tonight (since I missed the first airing).
Toward the very end of the show... Hurley comes to help Libby put up her "roof". I think this is significant. I think Hurley is about to come center stage and I have a hypothesis: Hurley and Libby are connected someway. I know that he was in the institution for a while and we know that she was/is a psychologist. I think the web is about to get much more tangled.
As far as Eko is concerned and tonight's episode... beautiful! This is one of the best episodes yet, mainly because the writing was good, an issue was resolved, and yet I was kept on the edge of my seat. Two thumbs up!!!

I agree!
Did you see the award show Kelly? If so, did the entire cast of Lost go up on stage? And I also wonder who accepted the award - the writers or Matthew Fox?
I've been looking at pics all morning and I wish MF had shaved for the event. But then again, he looks just like Jack would on the island, minus the tie and tux....

TV Guide has a whole GG section....as other sites as well, CNN, Fox, etc.
I was hoping My Name is Earl would win over Desp. Housewives and I watch DH! Earl is so different and funny, it deserved a win. Besides, I'm not so sure DH qualifies as a comedy either.....nighttime soap maybe.

I would find that odd too. We know him as Sayid only....or at least I do. But I have read that he speaks in an English accent usually.
I'll have to check out that clip.....edit. That's not our Sayid is it? LOL Did you notice how Barbara Hershey, his long term g/f, corrected his comment? He was asked if he can contribute which piece the award show judges him on. Got the impression he was going to say yes, after a long explanation but BH quickly said no, you don't get to choose for the GG. Wow, I was a little taken back. And she does NOT look 57 or whatever her exact age is! She looks great.

So, whose island is it, anyway? Jack, Locke and Sawyer might begin to find out as they head into the jungle to search for Michael, who seems to have gotten lost while searching for Walt. Did you notice how curt Jack was to Kate in the trailer for tonight's show? Could it have something to do with last week's affectionate Kate-Sawyer grooming session? This week's backstory involves Jack and his wife, Sarah (Julie Bowen), so we're likely to learn more about his past romantic life. And that could be helpful in predicting Jack's future — with Kate or Ana Lucia.

Lost scoop....from Ask Ausiello's Column, at TV Guide....

Question: You've been lacking in the Lost scoop lately.... Got anything for us? — Erin
Ausiello: Gathering intel on our favorite castaways has been my primary goal this past week, Erin. But trust me when I tell you it has not been easy — particularly at the Globes, where the cast was basically threatened with bodily harm if a spoiler made it past their lips. Still, I managed to glean a few morsels out of 'em. Among them:
* Yoon-jin Kim revealed that Sun will get another flashback episode this season. "We start shooting it next week," she said, "but I haven't seen a script yet, so I don't know what happens."
* Dominic Monaghan confessed that "it looks like" Charlie is hitting the powder again and offered this preview of next Wednesday's Charlie-centric outing: "We're going to be seeing a lot of stuff about how Charlie is responding to the rest of the group pushing him away."
* Matthew Fox (Jack) hinted at a possible return next season for one of Lost's MVPs. "There's a rumor floating around that J.J. Abrams is very excited about coming back to the show next year and working very hard on it." (For more breaking news on J.J., keep reading.)
* Regarding rumors that a new female castaway would be washing ashore in the coming weeks, Yoon-jin pleaded ignorance. "I haven't heard that," she maintained, before joking, "We can't have, like, a young attractive girl… no! We've got to keep Lost girls the way it is." (Note: One of my moles has since confirmed that a new character is about to be introduced, although he/she refused to give me specifics on this person's age or gender.)

Question: I will take any Lost scoop you might have! — Stephanie
Ausiello: The episode currently in production features a pivotal recurring character that we have not yet seen this season.
_________________
Question: OK, what's up with Lost? Mr. Eko and his brother crash on the same island? Kinda reaching, aren't we? — Russ
Ausiello: Honestly? I had the same reaction. But aside from that, I thought last week's episode was a solid B+.

Whoa!!!! You go Jack.....they do need an army (which will be Season 2's Finale, I bet)......
I'm just beat, did a 450 mile round trip from Cincy to Bowling Green, KY and back. So I'll be typing nonsense at this point but I did have to watch Lost before I turned in. Priorities ya know......
So let's get a good discussion going tomorrow. Cause tonight's episode sure gave us lots to talk about. And I was really missing Sayid, so it was nice to see him again, even if for a few minutes.
I LOVE this show!
