Hey guys - you know how this show infiltrates your thoughts and truth be told, dreams? LOL Well, a thought occurred to me.....

If Jin was on the water and transported back in time, Danielle's time to be exact, why then wasn't Penny and her group on the boat transported back in time? I know the Oceanic 6 were on the helicopter so they were still in 2004 (taking into acct. when Lost started). But then this entire theory is shot to he** when I realize Sawyer was in the water too but wait, did he jump from the helicopter after Ben moved the island?

My gosh this is all so mind boggling but I'm not complaining.

Just when you thought those Lost writers and creators couldn't get any stranger or throw us for curve balls, they introduce time travel.

LOL!

If someone could ~easily~ clear up why some traveled back in time and others didn't, I'd appreciate it. Thanx.

Penny and her group was outside the "bubble" or the perimeter. .. . Sawyer and Jin were within the "bubble"

Well, I guess time travel was actually introduced a couple of years ago, in Season 3. Remember "Flashes Before Your Eyes?" although at the time, we weren't really sure if it was time travel or not. At least I don't think we were. That may not have been the first time, but it's what came to mind.

I am so completely fascinated by this show. It seems like I'm always trying to figure something out, coming up with a new theory, talking to someone about their theories, etc.

Best show ever!

Nice picture!

Guess I have a slow connection. At first as the picture loaded, I could not see anything except for the fire hat .
Are the VW busses in the previous photo the writers vehicles of choice?

Men often have a difficult time understanding abstracted associations so its nice they have a site with transcripts of all the episodes so we can go back and reference stuff.

VW buses are supposed to invoke a certain time period, ie the 70's back when Dharma first came. . .

The flowers seem limited to the Hawaiian Leis that are being worn, and the buses are baby blue.

The motors on those early 70's VW's only take an hour to swap out so they are a good choice if your girl friend has a lead foot.

I've already got them, but that's a great deal. If you want to watch past seasons at your own pace (it really helps to refresh your memory!), this would be a good time to get them. Thanks for the heads up, Mary.

Edit: I just checked Amazon. If you don't have a Target near you, you can buy all 4 seasons at Amazon for $33.49 each. With no tax and free shipping, it comes out to be about $1 more at Amazon, but if you don't have a Target nearby, that's another option. I love having them on DVD and being able to pull up episodes or specific scenes at any time. GET LOST! 8-)

I bought the first season of Lost for my youngest daughter (my Lost fan in the family), for her Valentine's Day care package. Added some candy and sox. College kids can always use new sox! Do they throw away old ones I wonder.....wait, don't answer that question....LOL

She'll be surprised to get it because they were usually around $50 and we didn't want to spend that much for the seasons.

So after I bought it, wrapped and shipped it, I wondered if I should have bought last season. Since her new favorite Lost character is Faraday. Sigh...oh the dilemma. No this way she gets to see Charlie (her all time fave Lost character) again. And IMHO you need to start at the beginning.....

They lowered the price on Friends' DVD's and we started buying them. Have all but one by now. Not surprised they've started lowering the Lost DVD price now too.

'Lost': Time Travel Anxiety?
The Doc Has the Cure!
Doc Jensen has been diagnosing a lot of you with this condition since season 5 began -- this week, he has the salve. Plus: the ''Lost Untangled'' clip of the week, and a little number we call ''Zero Point Energy and You''

If any of you haven't read Doc's article yet, give lurker's link above a click. It's always very interesting. Also, watch "LOST Untangled." It's hilarious!

Hey all, I'm really confused as to who Doc Jensen is! Critic? Actor portraying Faraday? I looked him up but that wasn't his name.....anyway, I've got to log off so I'll read that article later. I must have missed - who Don Jensen is, lecture. LOL

We're having high winds right now, power has flickered. I have the Sony TV band radio ready and the Sony Watchman ready (audio isn't very reliable, I prefer the radio for the local TV channel audio). Both will be obsolete soon......

According to Doc, ''Neil'' + ''dead boar'' + ''pointlessness'' = Niels Bohr, that sounds about right.

Hurley is driving next week. Its been a long time since I drove a VW but I swear Nietzsche designed their transmissions! You never know what gear you are in and it would take till the heat death of the universe to find first.

Its all good, actually I'm quite comfortable living in the dog house as a recently neutered Pomeranian.

So we know this:

    Eloise Hawkings = Faraday's mother
Charlotte grew up on the island
the smoke monster is the security system for the temple
we saw happened to Danielle and the crew of French scientists

questions to be answered:

Is Eloise = Ellie from Jughead?
Who is Charlotte's parents? Is it Ben and Annie? or is it Widmore and yet to be introduced woman?
Who is Miles' parents? Is his father the infamous Dr. Candle?
Why does Christian (Jack's father) and Jack's [omited because of spoilers] have to do with the island?
Why didn't Danielle recognize Jin in the previous seasons of Lost?
What is the purpose of the temple and why does it need a security system?

I do think Eloise is Ellie from Jughead. It makes sense and the timeframe looks right. I'm starting to wonderm that if Eloise is Faraday's mom, maybe Widmore is his dad. And if Charlotte could be Widmore's daughter, perhaps Eloise is her mom as well and Faraday and Charlotte are siblings. Charlotte said her mom said the island didn't exist and it was all her imagination, which sounds like something Eloise would say if she didn't want her daughter to ever return there. Perhaps she knew that she would die if she ever did return.

Yeah, you gotta wonder if Miles is the son of Dr. Candle. Makes sense so far.

Jack's father's involvement is one of those things that drives me crazy. I don't have a clue. I think I had a theory way back when, but if I did, it's been erased from my memory. Oh no, I have a nosebleed. I think I know why I forgot.

I don't think Danielle recognized Jin in previous seasons because although it had already happened, it really hadn't happened yet. lol Remember when Faraday visited Desmond in the hatch and told him to go see his mom, Desmond didn't have that memory until after Faraday went back in time and saw him. (he woke up from a dream suddenly remembering it) I'm not sure how all this works, but apparently, the memories aren't there until they travel back in time, although if they really did travel back in time, of course it already happened years ago. hehehe... pretty confusing, yet fascinating stuff.

I am thinking the same thing, those 2 are blood related in some shape or form....Charlotte and Faraday.

Hey all - been so busy lately. I made 4, count 'em, 4 batches of caramel popcorn for my coworkers. The last batch is in the oven as I type. LOL I started these batches at 3:30 yesterday afternoon.......

Remind me never to go into the caramel popcorn business (people have suggested I think about it!).....

Wow is it ever time consuming....

Anyway, I want to catch up with you all but wanted to say as I was stirring and stirring the sauce, etc., I kept thinking of Lost.

I love this new season. Can't wait for the groups to be reunited.

But I do have one burning question.........what time will it be when Jack, et al, are back on the island? Because the last time Sawyer's group saw Aaron, he was a baby. And now he's a toddler. Same with Sun, Jin remembers her pregnant and now their "baby" is talking!

It's gonna get even more confusing......LOL

And oh one final comment - KELLY!!!! That eye is so creepy. I don't want to look and then I have to look. Is that Kate?

^lol - I really don't know who the eye belongs to... I found it online and instantly wanted it as my avatar.

As to the time on the island and time off the island, I find this very intriguing. At first I thought maybe they were showing the on-island scenes as what happened right after the Oceanic 6 left. But pretty quickly I started thinking otherwise. The whole time lapse thing having to do with the island... remember when that first trip on the helicopter to the ship seemed to take forever to those on the island? And remember the time difference with Faraday receiving the "load" from the ship? I think the Losties on the island are going to be very surprised to learn that 3 years have actually passed off the island, as it seems like only a few days or so have passed on the island. Very strange, indeed!

What I find the most fascinating with this show is just when you think they can't throw anything new at us - they do. And we love it! We're confused as all get out but we love it when we can discuss at great lengths a new concept or new character. I wasn't prepared to like Faraday's group. But I did. Frank's easy to like (but he's long gone isn't he?). I didn't like Charlotte much though but now that we know she grew up on this island but left later with her mother, who told her the island didn't exist (guess you'd tell your kid the same if you managed to wrench yourself away from this island!), you soften a bit towards her, all at the same time. Even when Miles has a comment to make - I sit up and take notice too. Because as a viewer you keep putting yourself in each of these characters' shoes. Miles is a newcomer and you want to warn him this place is not your typical tropical island. Far from it. But he has keen insights. Faraday does too but his tongue gets tied up in all the scientific explanations for what's been happening. And right now, Sawyer seems to be speaking the most for me - no matter what he says, I yell outloud too - yeah, what he said.......each time they grab their heads as they time travel, I want to grab mine! I probably have said outloud too - not again, not again.

It would be funny to sneak up on someone watching Lost.

Tell the truth - do you all say anything outloud? LOL!!!! Come on, confess.

We rented a movie from Blockbuster last night, can't type the entire title, it's a Seth Rogen movie - Zach and Miri make a p****. In one funny scene, two of the supporting characters are talking, during the making of the title's content too, one asks - "hey I didn't see Lost last week, did you?" "What happened?", the other guy, the cameraman of the p**** movie they're filming, says - "yeah I watched it, they're on the island, they're off the island, now they're time traveling, who can follow all that s***?" Of course I'm paraphrasing. My hubby isn't a Lost fan but I wanted to back that scene up to hear my Lost comments.....LOL

I find it funny how even Lost infiltrates other shows - the Office has had Lost comments to make too.

Well at this point I'm rambling.....LOL But in a good, trippy Lost kinda way!
