Hi guys - see you were rescued from the flash flood

#61 Postby M2 » Fri Feb 07, 2003 3:07 am

and were evacuated here to higher ground :D What the heck happened over there yesterday... Well anyway I'm glad to see you on 2K. It took awhile for that raft to float over here and to get through customs etc., but these mods didn't 'turn away the boat people' so to speak  Is this like escaping from East Berlin or floating over from Cuba??

:D Glad to be here. PEACE - M2

Hey guys....as much as I shouldve gone to the hospital...I called the VA and got a nurse online and she said for me to maybe go to a local ER. Since I'm not working currently, I have no type of insurance and since I havent been to the VA in over a year, I now also wouldnt get reimbursed for an ambulance trip and no one here to drive me. I know its not a money issue, but a health one. I got some sleep and the irregualrity waned and I got some rest. However, I woke around 4am and had a much slower heartbeat...close to a relaxed 60/bpm and I got up. I then experienced a few more skips and I am certain I will travel the 50 miles to the closest VA hospital and get to the ER. I'm waiting for some light and have to go in a snowstorm we are currently in. I'll have to drive myself and that sucks all on its own. I will give a heads up later on this afternoon and let everyone know what all this new crap is about. I'm only 33 and hope it is nothing serious...it could be...but this is scaring the living hell out of me and I need to get looked at. Wish me luck...I will be back here 1st thing I feel up to it. Thank you for the concerns and so forth..I appreciate it!

Got a call from ARIZWX last night

#65 Postby streetsoldier » Fri Feb 07, 2003 9:28 am

His PC is down for repairs and a new C-drive...he had no idea about the workings in (expletive deleted) Message Boarss, so I gave him the URLs for the sites I know of, and he expects to sign up within the next week or two.

COLD :o this morning here in the Bootheel; 19F, windchill -5F, with 4-6" snow on the ground (which is VERY unlike SE Missouri at all this time of year...February is best known for cold monsoons).

Annabelle (she be a ho') wants PEOPLE FOOD! Her Ladyship is trying to sit on my lap at this writing (anyone ever try to type over a poogle?) , while I am into my second pot of coffee, listening to a TV commercial hawking Bobby Vinson CDs and wearing my leather A-2 flight jacket (TOLD ya it was cold!)

Good Morning,

Where is that English tea???? Sure smells good. Hey David, I brought some KK's. Bill, you said the poogle pup was not to have any more people food!!!!! Annabelle, you be a ho.

Hey M2, you can take that life jacket off now. You're safe!!!

Hail, hail the gangs all here - well not quite all of them but I'm sure they'll find they're way.

I had an anxiety attack yesterday when I was trying to find this place. I think I was going into Stovie withdrawal.

We got about 2" of snow here in the Burgh. I'm getting pretty tired of driving in this stuff!! Cycloneye, I think I'll head down your way for a little vacation.

Well, I'll throw a log on the fire and put on a fresh pot of coffee.
Have a great day

Insult to injury, anyone?

#68 Postby streetsoldier » Fri Feb 07, 2003 11:17 am

The (expletive deleted) Home Page has now been substantially altered; if you didn't have a link to the Message Boards there, you have to go through a labrynth of pages to get in (and good luck finding the links)!

Annabelle was satiated with a new bag of "puppy treats", so the people food is safe for now...

As to this morning's news on Fox...I have to wonder at the reticence of some of our "lawmakers" (LOL); does Saddam have to personally drop a teaspoon of ricin or anthrax or AFLAC in their teacups to 'get the message"??? :? Sheesh...

Pot No. # brewing; having a hard time staying awake...

All I can say is I'm glad ya'll got the fire going. It may only be 45 deg here in Houston but that wind just won't let up. We are suppossed to have more rain today, I wish we could send some of it up to Dennis. Seriously, it would be nice to have a dry day off from work. :D

Dennis, Rob ya'll get better.

Morning Folks!

#70 Postby Stephanie » Fri Feb 07, 2003 1:14 pm

I stayed home today from work - I didn't even attempt to try and drive the 50 miles to Atalntic City. They had alot of snow there too. I have about 7 - 8 inches in my backyard.

M2 - it was a dicey trip to here, but it feels more cozy here everyday!

Streetsoldier - I know that when TWC is in "Severe Weather Mode", that sometimes you can't get to the boards, but with recent history, I wouldn't be a bit surprised that they are making it more inaccessible.

I miss Cappy. I hope he does make his way over here with his tall tales!

Rob - make sure you get your butt to that ER ASAP!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you all later!

I'll have a cup of Earl Grey if you don't mind...

Mid 60's here in Tampa with overcast skies and a light rain.... reminds me of my 2 years in England :-) Everyone up in the cold snowy north stay off the roads and pull up a chair by the fire :-)

I hope everything is gonna be ok, Rob.

I had severe chest pains back in September of last year which I had my father take me to the ER ... I'm only 30, and it turned out to be too much stress on the ribs, chest, and muscles of the like ... (and probably too much stress in general)

Nevertheless, it scared the hell out of me ... again, hope everything's gonna turn out OK for you, Rob.

Right now - it's only 44 degrees just Northwest of Charleston, cloudy.
I'm drinking a Red Fusion (Cherry Dr. Pepper) and watching some tapes of Whose Line is it Anyway? (from ABC)

Back from school and hearing the news about the terror threat, I needed a few minutes in front of the stove.

It is sunny out now and so the roads are doing better. I only a couple of times heading to college this morning. 8)

Hope everyone's day is going great.

Check this garbage out:

Hi Everyone,

We pay per page view. Our contract with Infopop allows for a certain number and we pay extra after that amount. Last month, we had this many page views:

Total Page Views: 2,398,483
Average Page Views/Day: 77,370

Now, Off-Topic, counted for a large percentage of that number and it isn't weather related. A decision was made to remove that forum. Other forums, although not as popular, are either weather related and/or link to some aspect of weather.com. That is why they won't be removed.

I hope this answers the concerns that many of you had.

I can read into this real well now. All this is saying is that I got banned for posting so much in their Off-Topic...anyone wanna lay odds? I gaurantee it was because of too excessive amounts of page views generated, but I was a large part of that and I bet they wanted me out just because I sparked too much interest! What a joke!!

Prayers for healing to our friends Rob and Dennis.

Steph - Do you drive 50 miles to work everyday? Glad you took this snow day off and didn't attempt it.

coriolis - Congrats on your new arrivals. Are you keeping any? No more blind, wobbly walks to the bathroom at 3am in the dark, huh? Gotta turn on those lights and wake up to avoid the landmines.

streetsoldier - Your Avatar almost decapitated me for lurking around too long. He'll keep us all in line.

Have a great day, fellow weatherphiles. :D

Oh yeah....just got home from the VA medical center which is a 50 mile ride for me south of here. I had to endure 5" of snow and also a few accidents on the interstates which led to 2 separate 5-8 mile logjams.

Anywho, I got there and signed in and as soon as I sat down they took my BP...initially it was 173/107....very high! They then led me to a room and I had to take off the 2 shirts I had on and lay down on the gurney. They then stuck and prodded me in preparation for an EKG....they got their stats and all was ok!

As I lay there another doc came in and also a real pretty Russian female head nurse asked questions and since I dont smoke, drink, have caffiene etc I was ok. Another 30 minutes passed and they still had me on monitors up behind me watching BP/breathing etc. The pressure was auto checked every 10 minutes and I noticed it came way down and landed somewhere around low 130s/70s.

They drew a blood test and a little later a chest x-ray and I just chilled out on this bed for almost an hour...then they wheeled in lunch. I was starved...havent eaten in 2 days...had 4 pierogies, fruit and juice, milk too. Anyhow, after that they let me go and referred me for another visit EKG on the 24th as a follow up and I walked out.

Real nice place...I havent been in this new wing they made a few years ago...hell they still asked if my dad was alive (he passed away in 1993), so I got my stats updated. I got home and now I gotta do some snowblowing again and update my snow totals on the boards again...Im still in the lead I think!

Hope ev1 else is ok and I really thank you all for the outpouring of support here. God knows I've been thru some wild times lately and my heart is fine, I'm in decent shape, outside a few extra lbs, I have an irregular heartbeat, but so does 99% of us anyhow...some are more pronounced than others.

I'm just glad that this was all it was! Take care and see you around everyone!

Glad everything turned out fine Rob, and as an added bonus - a pretty Russian nurse! Do you suddenly feel a little feverish? Seriously, take it easy with the snowblower. Don't be doing too much so soon.

Now, just watch out for your neighbor across the street....

That post from JohnAdmin should've been done immediately after all of that garbage took place. PLUS they should've stated that the forums are going to focus more on weather discussions than "Off Topic". So now that Cappy started the "Ole' Pot Belly Stove" thread, I wonder how long that is going to last. They treated their patrons like poop and they need to do alot better proving that they do really care about them.

Lol iso...she was unreal....no wonder my blood pressure was so high to start with! I almost proposed on sight, but my real girlfriend lives down the road from the facility...and guess who pages me right as I'm smiling and answering questions? lmao Ah well...you live once...live dangerously!
