Glad you are here therock. Storm2k is a great place! I am also glad that you have already felt comfortable enough to post. Welcome to the Front Porch!

Prayer warriors needed:
I just talked to Raine (Jackie) on the phone. She was on her way home from Children's Hospital in Philadelphia to check on her girls. Her husband (Tom) was still at the hospital with their son Dakota. She got a call from Tom to get back to the hospital. Dakota is not doing well. He's not responding to even the strongest of antibiotics and is getting very weak.
Please, please send out those prayers for this little guy.
I'll keep you posted.
Thank you my friends
Karan

Same here, already prayed once and will do so again before bed. :o
Hope everyone can see the eclipse. If not, mark Nov. 8th on your calendars.
That's the date of the next eclipse.
I had a good but tiring (literally) day at work. I fell asleep a few times (well just nodded off). :o
Have a great Friday. Joshua

Looks like a potent chain of prayers ongoing for raine, Amanzi, and some others. A lot of warriors in this place.
I proudly wore my storm2k shirt around town today (actually yesterday since it's past midnight here). Had my annual mammogram done. Man, when you're a size A, they've gotta grab skin from all the way under your armpit to get enough to put into the "waffle iron". It's a drag, but worth it.
My husband's out of town until Sunday. I have a feeling my post count may go up.
Take care!

welcome aboard Jeremy. I thought I recognized the name from TWC.
Geez Isobar, your making a Boob check sound worse than getting kicked below the belt by a little preschooler during swimming lessons (By the way, those hurt!) OUCH! :o :o
Prayers are being sent from Wisconsin for little Dakota. Poor boy.
8am final tomorrow will come to fast! Its almost 1am in Green Bay. Environmental Geology at 8am then Chemistry at 1pm (which I'm not sure is going to happen...long story...don't ask) Wish me luck

We don't have Krisy Kreme here....loved it in FL, but none even remotely close to Shreveport...Mothers Day the grocery store "special ordered" them....we stumbled upon them as we went to restock the fridge, after the cruise...BOY, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven...there before my eyes were hundreds of boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts! Unfortunatly, as I started loading up the cart, Brian started with a terrible attitude, (we were all starting diets that day)...I mamanged to put all but 1 box back, (and the Mothers Day cake...yummy)....and later when I ate that 1 box of KK donuts, I told him it was worth every second of his bad attitude at the grocery store, and I'd gladly do it again. Well, he had never had a KK, and he ended up agreeing with me that they were pretty good...(the kids got none the next morning, bc Brian finished off the box)...SO, I convince him we need to pick up something at the grocery store (this is the next day, mind you)... well, it can't be the store next to the house, it was to be the OTHER one...he figures out my games, seems pleased that we are going after more KK's...We get to the store, and the wall of KK's is gone!!!!! I run back to the back of the store...pushing my cart frantically...and they aren't in the bakery anymore either...(wall number 2 of KK's is missing!)...so I find the bakery boy, and enquire nonchalantly, (like he couldn't see my heart pounding under my skin), and he tells me..."Oh, I'm sorry ma'am, we through them all out this morning""....HE THREW THEM ALL OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! "But we'll have more in next Mother's Day".
Think I outta boycott them now???
BOYCOTT MY ARSE!!!! HE SHOULD BE DRAWN AND QUARTERED!!!!!
ARE YOU SURE IT WASN'T A NIGHTMARE????
Karan please keep us updated!!! I had her numbers, but I have no idea where they are now, unless they are on the other computer.
WE NEED RAIN!!! WE NEED RAIN!!! WE NEED RAIN!!! WE NEED RAIN!!! Can anyone spare any? Still no rain this month unless you count the artificial variety.

I had a busy day today, went grocery shopping during the late morning into the early afternoon... then after dinner played three games of Scrabble and Triple Yahtzee with my mother and our neighbor across [at our house] the street while my father played poker with several neighborhood friends. I won two games of Scrabble and came in second place in Triple Yahtzee.
I would like to send my regards to Raine and Dakota as well. I hope for the best with their current situation.
Whew! I have been catching up on posts; a lot to read but continuing to enjoy it.
Along with Storm2K, I am watching the severe weather activity over the Kansas area as well as some thunderstorm activity off the Florida east coast. It hasn't moved too much in the last several hours, in fact it appears at times to be "backbuilding" and/or drifting a bit west rather than some apparent drifts to the east.
Have a Fabulous Friday, everyone. Later.....
