Patrick Dempsey & Isaiah Washington's On-Set Dustup
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 11, 2006 10:15AM EST
By Elizabeth Leonard
There would have been no shortage of bandages if things had really gotten out of hand during an on-set argument between Grey's Anatomy costars Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington on Monday.
Dempsey, 40, and Washington, 43, didn't need medical aid, but the actors, who both play renowned doctors on the show, nearly came to blows during a spat over shooting issues.
"We were like two baseball players . . . nose-to-nose," Washington tells PEOPLE. "We had a difference of opinions while working on set but we've resolved it."
At issue, says Washington, was "time and (keeping) the production going. The communication was lost in translation."
But no punches were thrown: "Our faces are too beautiful for that!," says Washington, who plays Dr. Preston Burke. Dempsey plays heartthrob Dr. Derek Shepherd, otherwise known as "Dr. McDreamy."
In fact, just a few hours after the dustup, Washington and Dempsey were sitting side by side at a script read-through.
"In close families arguments happen," Dempsey's rep tells PEOPLE. "They worked it out."
Washington even learned a little something about his costar. "I've never been that close to (Patrick) before," he says. "He has really pretty blue eyes."

Yeah, it re-airs tonight at 8. This is the last week of the Friday repeats though. You can also watch on abc.com
Oh and another note: Coming up on October 26th, the first two episodes of this season will re-air from 9-11pm, so there won't be a new episode that week(Sweeps start the next week on November 2nd).
I thought last night's episode was really good. Glad to finally see that love triangle with Meredith end, and I'm glad she chose Derek. Finn was BOR-ING. Callie and McSteamy should be interesting.

Definitely improving as a show overall!!! Like you I think the new "love interest" could get very interesting!!
As an aside, a radio show here in Houston had call ins from people in the medical proffesion here in Houston call in about whether the relationships shown actually do happen or not on a regular basis. Apparently, that type of "activity" is relatively prevalent within the medical community, at least at the hospital level.

Just because he was kind, gentle and would never hurt Meredith, that doesn't make him boring. He was soft spoken - that doesn't make him boring! He never cheated on his wife - that doesn't make him boring. Toward the end he was ready to compete for Meredith.
(It looked like he had a wig on in this episode!!)

EXCLUSIVE: Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight Confirms He's Gay
THURSDAY OCTOBER 19, 2006 03:30PM EST
Grey's Anatomy T.R. Knight is gay, he has confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE.
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight tells PEOPLE in a statement. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."
Knight, 33, plays the unassuming Dr. George O'Malley on the hit ABC drama. A Minneapolis native, he began his career in that city's famed Guthrie Theater.
A reminder that next week the first 2 episodes of the season will repeat, so no new episode.
