That's the only way this will end without a prolonged and regional conflict IMO. It's already obvious this is going to get much worse before it gets better, and this is only Day 2.

The big difference between today and the past battles is the toys. The toys of today can wipe out a country, not in the last few hundred years and earlier. So, everyone today is aware of what could happen. 9/11 on a grand scale.

Yes, we think beheading is horrible. Rome fed their prisoners to the lions.

It doesn't sound like Israel is going to back down to me. From what I've just read, their intent is to impose a sea and air blockade on Lebanon.

All this going on and the US and other countries watching closely, I hope people are not plotting against us and using this as a good time. Lets don 't keep our guard down regarding terrorists right now. They are watching too.

Yes, I saw that. They definately want the entire airport shut down. I wonder what their next plan of attack is?

I have a question. Does all this go on even at night or mostly in the daylight.

Well, this may sound mean, but I hope they don't send any of our troops there. Those two countries have been fighting since the beginning of time and we cannot stop them. They need to figure it out for themselves.

It can happen at anytime. The initial airport strike was at daybreak(7 hours ahead of the East Coast), and it's now late evening there.

I doubt we will unless the situation gets much much worse(i.e. other countries besides Lebanon get involved).

Shock and Awe took place after dark, too. At least I THOUGHT it did.

Yeah, like Syria and Iran. Part of me wonders just how bad Iran is chomping at the bit to get into this.

Yep. The reason the Iraqi strikes was primarily at night was so Iraq's air defenses couldn't really stop us(like they could anyway). Compared to the daytime it's almost impossible to down an aircraft.

I was reading an aviation news board and some pilots and those living in the area believe the reason for the second strike on the airport was due to the fact MEA was trying to evacuate their aircraft via an undamaged taxiway. This could have lead to the hostages being taken out via air transport. If the fuel supply is destroyed then having the taxiway for evacs is worthless. Again this is pure speculation but could be a reasonable conclusions for the reasoning behind the second attack
