Hello everyone,

Just checking on this Memorial Day 2003. I hope everyone took time to remember the veterans and the current fighters of the American Freedom.

Camping weekend for my family. I went up on Sunday afternoon because I was helping one of my uncles with his garage.

Bronni...put up a fight...we don't want you to go back to SA.

Jeremy...Good luck with Hang Gliding...hope your brakes don't go out.

I just heard that Eric Hinske, AL 2002 Rookie of the Year suffered a broken hand in today's Toronto/ Chicago White Sox game. :( :( He'll be on the DL for 4-5 weeks. :( :( Hinske is a Menasha Native :D

Interesting information, Shannon, thank you for sharing.

I will taking my shortsleeve shirt to the long sleeve and jacket on the 'ol Front Porch soon... I will return to the "Porch" from chilly southern New England tomorrow. :)

Annette...it may be 8:20 at night...but a hot dog sounds pretty good right now! Bet one of those could bounce from your place to mine after being off the grill for half the day! Give it a try!

My time off to San Diego always feels like a vacation, but actually I am fortunate enough to be able to make the trip about once a month to see my son, his wife, and our granddaughter Emma. We usually leave in the afternoon on Friday and return on Sunday.

Don't know if I've mentioned it, but nice to see so many young folks here. Jeremy and Josh, for example....your words and thoughts are always appreciated...not just by me, but others too!

Why thank you Steve, it's nice to interact with the other people too. (I dare not say O L D E R ! ) And let's not forget Pojo, Jacki (StormCrazyIowan), MScoast, ColdFront77, and David - they're still young as far as I know. ;)

Today was a nice day weatherwise. Temps were in the 70s under sunny skies after the morning marine layer burned off. But we have a heat wave on the way! :o :D

I spent today with my mom. It was a relaxing day. I took a nap :D , helped her get her new computer monitor hooked up, and we had hot dogs, corn on the cob, and garlic bread for dinner. Then we went to Tarjay (aka Target for all non-native Californians) to do some shopping. I bought new flip-flops and my mom's BD present.

I dread going back to work tomorrow. :o Oh well, it has to come sooner or later. Joshua

Hey ya'll. We ended up going South to our friends family's house in Pineville, La. After a huge spread of every delicious southern dish imaginable, we took our full bellies to Marksville, La. and set up camp at the RV park of a really wonderful landbased casino, owned by the Tunica-Biloxi tribe. We all cooked out, swam in the pool, and then the grownups hit the casino fo some evening fun...Brian won a jackpot :). (A very small one).
There was a really nice Memorial Day service on the casino grounds today, well attended despite the rain showers. What a nice surprise of a weekend. Hope everyone made it home safe and happy from their Memorial Day holidays.

Steve...we want pics! Just add us to the "always send Emma pics" list!

PS Did ya'll read about the explosion on a cruiseship Sunday morning at the port of Miami??? Read my signature....thats the one we're going on in October. Very sad that 4 crew members were killed....

Good morning everyone!

I've been up for just over an hour after about four hours of sleep perusing the board. :D .....which isn't bad considering I have to leave for the bus station/airport in 1 1/3 to just under two hours. This is the first time in months that I have been up after 5:00am, instead of the several times all these past months I may of gone to be around this time.

Joshua, it sounds like you had an enjoyable day with your mother yesterday, I noticed you were only here briefly during your mid morning/around noon Eastern Time.

The temperature is up to 79.3 degrees already.

I will catch everyone later tonight from the Bay State!! :D :D

Good morning everyone! It sounds like everyone had a good holiday week-end!! I did too! I used it as my "down" week-end actually. I had one child graduate from HS last week and am in school myself finishing my Bachelors so I needed some "Sandi" time. It was wonderful! Slept in, stayed in my PJ's most of the day on Saturday, cooked out with the family on Sunday. Very nice!

Bron, you know that you are in my prayers and God's will is going to prevail. Everything will work out!! You are a permanent resident right where you are at!! Keep the faith.

Life seems to be good today, I have my health, wonderful family, my dog Jasmine (Great Dane) and God takes care of me daily!

Take care everyone and have a very blessed day!!

Good morning everyone! Looks like a gorgeous day today. It became a hectic day for me. Darla decided she needed to go to the mall in Joplin to get a present for a co-worker. Well...when we got to the Joplin mall we discovered a lot of things had closed, including a store she was going to buy Courtney something at. So she says, "Let's go to Springfield mall!"

So... being the crazy guy that I am, I agree and drive an hour and a half to Springfield where we find the present she was looking for. As we are about to leave, we ran into an old friend from high school. We talked forever and then decided to go out to dinner with her.

It was a lot of fun, but the day was a busy one and it seemed to fly by.

Glad you all enjoyed your holiday weekends. Mine was very relaxing. :D

Yes Tom, my day with my mom was very enjoyable and relaxing. Her birthday is this Saturday, so that is one reason I spent the day with her.

The weather here is overcast for now but I doubt that will last long. It is supposed to get very warm today.

Have a great return to work everyone. Joshua

They didn't...not on the chair. But the emergency brake on the van did. It is almost touching the floor now... Just wonder if it's still there.
Anyway... the big question on my mind is, Who spiked the hot dogs?
Last night I was eating a hot dog that shoulda tasted like meat... tasted like someone had poured beer on it. I'm not a beer drinker, in fact I only drink Coca cola. Or any other cola for that matter...
Bronwyn, don't give up! You and I both know that this will come through in the end and so does the rest of the storm2k family.
Tom, have a good flight.
Josh those are my thoughts exactly. I like it here and will likely never forget this place(not that I'm leaving it anytime soon, but college...guess I'll have to get internet. LOL!)
Everyone have a great day (even if it's Monday LOL)

Good Mornin'

WHEW! Haven't stopped by the porch lately, been hangin' out on the patio out by the big Koi pond, it's a *little* cooler out back. Talk about WARM, we've been in the mid to upper 80's, I know.....that doesn't sound too warm but for a snowman, it's HOT! Suppose to hit 90° today with a chance of a boomer or 2 the next few days, in fact, I wasn't online too much last evening due to the isolated boomers, no rain, just lightning!

Howdys to everyone I missed, need to scoot!

Well...HELLO!

#917 Postby Kitzel » Wed May 28, 2003 9:28 am

So, this is where the Front Porch went! :)
I missed so many of you when the 'other' porch became a giant rec park and people wandered off in all directions.

So glad to see so many of you here. I'll be back often now that I've found you, the porch, the koi pond (we're around that same temp here in Florida too, AZ) and hopefully some of the familiar porch animal friends will show up here too.

Hey! I see they have a spell check!! My day is complete.

Kitzel!!! Great to see you here! *isobar does the wave*

Dennis - Saw on TWC that Show Low set a record high yesterday. Your part of the world seems to be "like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get." :D

Sandi - I have a Jasmine too. A 100 lb muttzilla - Black Lab, Shepherd, Husky mix. Her mom was a sled dog in NH, and when we go for walks, she has to be 10 ft in front.

Have a great day!!
