How embarrassing. If you're going to propose in public like that, you better be dang sure she's going to say yes.
Ouch.

Agree.
Looking at the bright side, maybe he is getting more proposals from girls that feel bad for him. Women find this very sensitive and cute!!! Men would say, "next!!!"

I'd never propose in public...not even at a restaurant.

It seemed a little fishy to me. I'd think they'd have gotten together and talked about it if they were going to do it during a basketball game.

Different incident, that's from 2004, and this was in Houston, not in Washington.
This might have been staged too, but that's not the same incident.

Looking at that picture in the article, that's not the one Brent posted.

The point of the link was that NBA teams have a history of these fake marriage proposals. The one in 2004 wasn't the first. Every time there is one of these, it makes big news and in a few days, we find out it was fake.

				Not the worst I've heard.
Heres some Philly hospitality

I was at the Phillies/Blue Jays game last may, the Phils were getting killed (They lost 13-2). Late in the game a man proposes to his girlfriend on the jumbotron, she says yes, and then...
The whole stadium erupts in boos, they were chanting for her to say no.

http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1802919This (same video) says it was their second date. Makes me think it was staged.
