I have a problem with this mother. I don't care if it wasn't poisonous.

I'd rather she was like this with her kids, and let them be around animals etc, rather than shielding them from nature, which could have the effect of making them not care about it. There is too much pressure these days to wrap children in cotton wool and not expose them to any risk at all, which in my opinion is a bad idea.

I can't imagine the problem with allowing a four-year-old to be around a small, non-poisonous snake. It's no different than a dog, cat, parakeet, or any other pet. Any of those can cause injury.

Stairs, bathtubs, hardwood floors, processed food, houses that have not been tested for radon, plastic toys, stoves, and door corners are all much more likely to cause serious injury to a child.

The kid likes snakes. I'd think he'd be better with snakes than without them.

I don't see any problem, the snake wasn't poisonous, if I had a 4 year old I'd let him play with one too (as long as it wasn't a large snake)

I've been bitten hundreds of times..My 3 kids have all been bitten at least 10 times each...No big deal...Even a fish will bite you...Its the only way they can defend them self..If your messing with snakes your going to get bit...

This is Steve Irwin's son, what do you expect? Obviously he has the same fascination with animals like his dad had, and he's probably going to get bit by a lot of things in his life. lol
