Fox News reporting he will resign. (Well he's not resigning... yet anyway)
That didn't take long.
This is a stunning BOMBSHELL. He was frequently mentioned as a Presidential candidate down the road and he's only been in office for 14 months.

His cases as state attorney general included a few criminal prosecutions of prostitution rings and into tourism involving prostitutes.
In 2004, he was part of an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrest of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges.
No additional comment necessary.

If he hadn't been involved in prostitution prosecutions, creating the apparent aura of hypocricy, he'd probably be able to weather this and stay as the governor by issuing the standard weepy "mistakes were made" type apology.

This governor is very hypocritical. I think all people make mistakes, but bending or breaking the law paves the way for being removed from office.

Governor may not resign, I suppose. The last gov to resign, in New Jersey, had hired his boyfriend on the state dime to head up the state's homeland security agency, which is a little more of an abuse of power than hiring an escort.

Tanya Hollander is a defendant. I wonder if she is any relation to the "Happy Hooker", who used to run a brothel for the rich and famous in the 1970s, before getting busted and becoming a sex advice column for Penthouse magazine.
I know, back in my single days, before I started going to church every week and then getting married, I used to peruse Penthouse. Not always just for the articles either.

I'm not surprised. For every one of these found out/reported, 1000 more exist.

Question for the ladies: Could you 'stand by your man' after he did something like this? His wife was standing there during his comments. I couldn't. Not only is it illegal, but he's in the public eye... what an embarrassment for his family. Great example for your daughters, bucko.

I'm sure that will teach them to respect themselves. ugh.

Good question Kelly. We've seen many women stand by their men (Hillary for a current example) and while I admire their loyalty, where was their husband's loyalty? At some point I think I'd have to take the kids and lead a normal life, away from the public eye. Each time something like this happens, I could care less what the schmuck did, I almost always look closely at the long suffering, yet supportive wife. My heart breaks for these women! (not quite Hillary though, we knew what her goal was....).

I think there is a case for his removal from office, whether it will happen is a different question.

He had a sweet Southern Baptist wife. I don't even want to know what you get for $4300.

Elliot Spitzer was a rising star. He went after banks and Wall Street firms. He even busted up prostitution rings. He has made many enemies as a result. You would think he would not do that. He thought he could get away with it. His career is over as it is. I feel for his family.
