Just want to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Good Friday (and an early Happy Easter Day).

it sure has come early this year. Is this the earliest that Easter has been in a long time? I do not remember Easter this soon after the vernal equinox

It's the earliest that Easter can be. It was strange having mardi gras so early this year too.

It's the earliest I can remember, and probably in my lifetime. The earliest Easter I remember before now is March 26.

Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon of Spring. And what do you know, March 21 (today) is a full moon. So March 22 is the earliest possible day for Easter, and this year it will be March 23. It won't be on March 23 again until 2160 and won't fall on March 22 until 2285.

You too! It is the earliest since 1913 I believe. Easter usually falls in April.

I never knew how Easter's date was determined until I saw on the news what you posted above. Very interesting.
