Germany N-TV channel: The right side are real Chinese policemen. The left side actually happened in Nepal.

USA Washington Post: It used the Nepal police to show what happened in China.

Germany Bild-Zeitung: It used picture from Nepal again. But it says it happened in China.

Ok, this is about notorious USA CNN, a famous liar with most advanced technology in this world. Apparently it is more cunning than others. The left side picture was used by CNN. It is a real picture from Lhasa, BUT, it was deliberately cut off from a larger one (Shown on the right side). The part CNN used dropped a hint to its readers that a "peaceful protest" was crushed by Chinese police. Actually, the original picture shows that rioters were attacking police. Interesting, isn't it? Those stupid Germany media and Washington Post should learn some from CNN. CNN is the No. 1 experienced liar the leading propagator on this planet. CNN stands for "Cheating News Network".

This is the lie from BBC. Where is the heavy military presence? Ambulance is the heavy military or the med?

This is Berliner Morgenpost, Germany again. That's a Chinese who was rescued by police. But the German liar say that's a protester who was arrested by police. Big ass!

From Germany N-TV channel. Use the video from Nepal, but the TV lied to its audiences, said it happened in China.

Oh, yeah, That's Fox news in US. Apparantly that happened in India. Brave Indian police was crushing terrorists. Fox is really a cunning animal.

These are screenshots of Youtube. A self-claimed free-sharing and free media. But many Chinese are complaining the deleting of their uploaded videos that tells the truth in Tibet. Youtube also manipulates counters of the videos posted by Chinese so that these videos would not be listed among the most viewed ones. Here is the screenshot. You can find the number of comments is even greater than than the number of the views. After a while, the number of comments increased by almost 1000, while the number did not change. Funny, right?

The Chinese media gives you anti-Tibet views, the western media gives us pro-Tibet views. Welcome to the world of media.

Don't give me that crap. This is one thing I don't buy at all.
China has no right to accuse the West of bias when Chinese state media routinely censors news and information itself, and REFUSES TO LET WESTERN JOURNALISTS into Lhasa.
When you refuse to let even the UN HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS into Tibet, you have something to hide.
(These are the views of me and only me, and not of my employer or school.)

Why did the PRC invade Tibet anyway? I am not aware that it has much in the way of resources. Was it a strategic move in regards to India?
I have heard that China is moving in ethnic Han Chinese in great numbers, in an attempt to make the Tibetans a minority in their own (invaded) country.

Media distortions are rampant everywhere, I'll grant that.
Let's try and keep this discussion from getting too heated, though. I think it kind of a gray area relating to the no politics rule ... let's not drive it all the way over the line.

Tibet has a lot of resources yet to be untapped due to the terrain of the area.

It was over the line when it was posted. Nothing gray at all here. This is the guy that told us he was joining the communist party. Now he's telling us the media from Berlin to Atlanta are all liars.

So, everyone except for China is wrong? Even though we have journalists on the ground there, reporting what is going on? Hmm...
Plus with the Youtube thing, the number of views is (I believe) rated by IP addresses, meaning that while an individual may post multiple comments, their computer only has one hit. Thus the "more comments vs. hits" thing.
EDIT: Just went to Youtube. Clicked on a video, number of views registered as "5,018". Pressed refresh, guess what the number of views was then? 5,018. Clicked the back button and then clicked on the link to go into the video again...who could guess the number of views there was after that? 5,018.

You're wrong. China expelled all foreign journalists a while back, and refuses to let even the top UN human rights official in.

I thought there was some free lance journalists still in there?

Nope. As long as they're not Chinese nationals they were asked to leave last month. China then invited a group of foreign journalists on a pre-planned tour of Tibet earlier this month but at a visit a group of monks wrecked the Chinese plans, forcing China to say they would not be prosecuting the monks (not that they'd have done anything illegal in the first place, except in China!).

I hope some day the Chinese get a democratic government. Such a great culture, with such a great history, deserve it.
But 'right wing' authoritarian dictatorships seem to have an easier time transitioning to democracy, as seen in Chile and Spain, as compared to communist dictatorships, as seen in Russia and Cuba.
I've been to Singapore (wave to Chacor) several times in the Navy, and it has a reputation, or at least it did, as being authoritarian, and I did see signs and posters about speaking Mandarin, and not a dialect (in English, BTW) and signs about gum chewing and all, but it seemed as long as people followed the rules, Singapore was a pretty free place. They were building a subway when I was there. Having ridden the subways of New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Seoul, I wish I could have done that as well.
Now way off topic, beer in the clubs was expensive, but in the outdoor markets, was quite reasonable, and residents of the 'Lion City' were very friendly to US servicemen. Sentosa island and the Jurong Bird Park, and Tiger Balm Gardens, all worth visiting for any tourist. And the prawn were huge, and tasty.

That remark was completely uncalled for.

I have locked this thread because it has gone off topic and will become a bashfest. One of the other reasons I have locked it is because none of the "quoted" sources showing the "lies" has any type of link and therefore any type of proof of where they came from. When one posts accusations as serious as these and does not fully back them up it proves nothing and in fact could have all been made up to make a certain group look bad. I am not saying that was done. I am saying that in this aspect the rules were broken. The other reason is that it is a broad brush attack on and entire group of people, whether we are talking ethnicity, politics, media or whatever-S2K does not allow this type of attack, period.
I am going to leave this up for a few days so everyone knows what is going on then it will be gone.
