Just came back from a day of partying. A change from partying at night. The weather was nice and cool, even nice for this time of year. The Sun was out. It was an outdoor party. Got to see a lot of friends and meet new people. There were also a lot fine and beautiful girls.

I wish I can stop thinking and talking about the World Trade Center. I really like New York and those buildings, which goes way before 9/11.

Despite it all, I had a mighty fine time.

Daytime partying, on the weekends, its ok, on work days, they call it alcoholism.

Growing up in Massapequa, I went with my Dad, now in the Dallas Veteran's Cemetery, to the observation deck of the Empire State Building. My Aunt Frances worked on Wall Street, when school was out, I'd take the LIRR into the city and take the subway to her office at The Irving Trust, later brought out by Manny Hanny, and ride the J-train to her apartment in Glendale.


But I never went into the WTC.

Cool. I like the Empire State Building. I have been on top of it. I have been to the World Trade Center myself. It's too bad they are gone.

I dont really party. However, I will say I've always wanted to visit the towers. One of my friends had visited it just a couple months before 9/11 and had wonderful pics from it.

I went to the WTC in October of 1993, 8 months after the bombing. They had heavy security in place and female/male police officers to search you. My husband had been to the WTC before and said I just had to see the view from the observation deck. The outside deck was closed but the inside one was open to the public. He was correct, the view was incredible. We could look over at the other tower and see into Windows on the World. The reopening was soon because I clearly recall seeing place settings on the table. My husband said he wished we could have had dinner there. I looked over and then down to street level, realizing I was glad we weren't eating that high up! After 30 minutes and a roll of pictures, I wanted to get back down to street level. The recent bombing probably made me nervous but also you just realized how very far up you were too. On 9/11 I thought of our trip to NYC and the WTC, many times, and was horrified at how those poor people must have felt. Am I glad we went to it in 1993 - yes I am. I have looked at our pictures, numerous times. But they always, always make me sad.

I haven't visited NYC since but my family has, they said it is sad without the towers. They would give you instant direction if you got confused while walking in Manhattan. When I see movies or TV shows with the towers shown in the background, I'm always sad. I think I always will be. You also want so much to believe 9/11 was just a terrible dream, that it didn't really happen and they're still standing. Oh how I wish that were true. It is still a shock to me that they both collapsed. These buildings were MASSIVE!

As for daytime partying - I'm assuming you are young and there was a good reason!

I am young and enjoy it. Daytime parties are not as common as nighttime parties. Both are fun for various reasons. Daytime parties are best enjoyed in a clear and warm day, not too hot, which we had.

9/11 really affected me so profoundly. It was the saddest week of my life. Everytime I see the World Trade Center, I feel very sad. Those buildings were HUGE and hard to even think they are gone. They collapsed violently onto the streets of New York killing 2,800. As horrible that day was on that very Tuesday on September 11, 2001, we should never forget.

Parties are fine. It is what you do at the parties which can make them not so fine.

Actually, that is called being silly for the camera, lol, but point taken.

This Summer, I'm gonna be at every pool party the suite/apartment complex is hosting.
