Iron Man: 3rd weekend: $31.8 million US & Canada

I saw this movie yesterday and it's one of the best comic book-impired movies I have ever seen. It has a lot of action and it's funny. In Rotten Tomatoes it has a 94%, which is incredible for a movie of this genre. If you like this kind of movies, I recommend that you don't miss it.

By the way, this is the first of a trilogy. The second movie will be released in 2010.

In its opening weekend, Iron Man grossed an estimated $100.7 million in 4,105 theaters in the United States and Canada, ranking #1 at the box office, making it the tenth-biggest movie opening and the highest-grossing opening weekend of 2008. It grossed $32.5 million on its first day, making it the 14th-biggest opening day. Iron Man had the second-best premiere ever for a non-sequel, coming behind Spider-Man. It had fourth-biggest opening for a superhero movie.

As of May 4, 2008, Iron Man has grossed an estimated $201 million worldwide — $104.2 million in the United States and Canada and $96.7 million in 57 other countries.

$201 million worldwide - $135 million cost of production = $66 million profit in the first weekend!!!

It was LOADS of fun. Rober Downey was great. Iron Man looked and move great. The story was fun. It didn't take itself to seriously and that made it all the better. No, it isn't some timeless masterpiece, but it isn't supposed to be. Go see it.
And, the Enginner was the dashing hero. Yay for Engineers.

:uarrow: I agree. For a superhero of our imaginations, it looked very possibly real. It's not a magical power that you adquire but a machine created by a human.

As of May 11, 2008, Iron Man has grossed $342.1 million worldwide — $177.1 million in the United States and Canada and $165 million in 61 other countries.
