I am no fan of Don Imus, by no means. I think he is disgusting and wouldn't listen to anything he has to say about any subject, but he is entitled to free speech just like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are.

Yes but after all he went through last time, why would he do it again?

Because he is who he is, and if his mouth is up to a microphone everyday his true feelings are going to come out. Like feederband said it'd be best if he just come out and say he's a racist.

I DON'T do racism at all.

I am also not a fan of " lets all love one another " either.

But - can't we all just try to get along!

Sorry that is my native american speaking.

Indeed he is. But he's not entitled to be paid for it.

I know what went on previously with Imus and I DON'T LIKE HIM AT ALL!!! His previous remarks were most assuredly racist and uncalled for. However, why is his current explanation for what he said not acceptable? It is something that almost any AA will tell you and that in many cases appears to be true, that they are indeed targeted. In the case being discussed I think that would be one of my first questions since he has been arrested six times since 2005(I haven't heard what for) and would be someone that would appear to have all the advantages life has to offer. Imus does have two AA on his staff on the show with microphones. Perhaps he is tellling the truth as to his intention. Otherwise, I would hope they would have spoken out. I didn't see any gags on their mouths and I doubt that he is their employer. Many of us(this is not targeting anyone here-I am talking globally.) are too quick to judge without looking past the immediate. JMHO or maybe I am playing devil's advocate here.

I have listened to Don Imus before and find that he is hackneyed and should have left radio a long time ago. He is so unfunny and his time is up. He has made a lot statements that could be viewed as racist WAY before the Rutgers remark. Racist or not, that is uncalled for in the name of sportsmanship. Insulting a team that lost in a NCAA tournament is not cool. Not something I would like to hear. The thing is it happened at a slow news time around Easter.

Well, I agree with you. I'm not an Imus fan either, but in this case, his explanation makes sense.

This is an interesting discussion. Everyone pointing fingers at Don Imus. Look at Al Sharpton.....he's clearly racist.....and he's trying to decide what to do about Imus? Gimme a break!!

I have listened to "Imus in the Morning".......there isn't anything particularly good about his show. Consider the possibility that some folks listen to him just to catch him use the wrong words. It is surprising that the religious right hasn't climbed on board......after all it was Imus that coined the ditty about the plastic Jesus on the dashboard.

Why in the world would anyone want to listen to Imus when we've got John-Boy and Billy?

If he had a shred of common sense he'd of used his explination initially.
