They're going to televise the demolition of the cooling towers and hand over the accounting to China!

This is pretty cool, finally a de-escalation of tensions somewhere!

Well once again its a case of not knowing whether they do or don't have bombs, after the total mess up of Iraq its really tough to know the actual truth.

But indications are it was probably a lower yield than they expected.

Pakistan's nuke tests are also rumored to have shown their bombs, while functional, aren't built to USA/once and future USSR standards.

Rumors are that Saddam's WMDs (not his nukes, he had suspended his nuclear program) may have been moved to Syria in the long run up to the war. The Syrian Ba'athists are not traditional allies of the Iraqi Ba'athists (btw- the Ba'ath were Arab Nationalist and socialist parties, modeled on another famous National Socialist party of the 1930s/40s), but they clearly had a common potential enemy in the US, and Saddam arranged a good deal of the insurgency before the US invasion, possibly knowing he couldn't beat the US in a traditional war, but if no WMDs were found, and US troops were dying in an insurgency, based on the history of Viet Nam, the US might quit in Iraq and he could return to power.

Being captured and hanged didn't help his goals, obviously.

Well this is a very positive step. But I want to see them turn over documentation of their weapons program and dismantle any weapons they've built too.

Sounds good to me. But after they rejoin the real world, maybe we can sell them nuclear power plants to light their cities.

Sounds fine to me. So long as the nuclear material is managed by international supervision.

I'd say the same for Iran.

I don't know if you mind my saying: US got it right when they say that

NORTH KOREA IS A ROGUE STATE

North Koreans have benefitted a lot from China. China gives them food and electricity, they cost the Chinese taxpayers large numbers of money and they're still doing so even now. But here's the list of what they have done to China all these years:

- As we all know, large numbers of Chinese soldiers died in the Korean War, they fight for the Kim Dynasty and against the UN army under the name of the People's Voluntary Army. Without our soldiers, North Korea may not exist now, however, they refuse to take good care of the cemetery of the Chinese soldiers.

- In their revolutionary museums, when their guides talk about their history during the Korean War, Chinese soldiers are not even mentioned. If you ask them about Chinese Voluntary Army, their answer would be a simple "I don't know."

- Do you know that 2000 Olympic games may have been held in Beijing? In 1993, Beijing thought it could succeed in bidding the Olympic Games until she received an unexpected NO from North Korea. It was already enough for Beijing to suffer from a defeat. You may ask why, the reason is very simple. Because China then recognized South Korea. China always refused to do so until 1992.

- Many many more, I can't name them in a short time.

And do remember that in 1950, Chinese leader Mao Zedong ever told Kim Il Sung not to invade into South Korea in such a hurry. But Kim did not take Mao's words into consideration and launched the war without hesitation.

Everybody please believe me in that

NORTH KOREAN PEOPLE ARE FRIENDLY, BUT NEVER TRUST NORTH KOREAN GOVERNMENT. IT IS A ROGUE GOVERNMENT. IT IS PLAYING WITH ALL THE RELEVANT PARTIES!

If there's one thing I've learned in life, it is to never judge people by their governments. After all, it's the people who make up the country. :)
