IMHO, a just decision.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25692507/I was a mere teenager when these horrific crimes were committed by Charles Manson and his demented followers, but I made a personal vow to make sure no one ever forgets who he is or what terrible crimes he and the others committed. Even if I'm 100+ in age, I will write a parole board, if needed. What they did to poor Sharon Tate.....may she RIP.

Manson follower, put in jail for life, amputated leg, half-paralyzed, and brain cancer? What a terrible life. I would feel sorry for her, but I'm not sure that she doesn't deserve it.

Just saw this on "Good Morning America" earlier today.
If I was her, I would've died in jail from brain cancer than to face scrutiny from the outside world.

It sure is David! I'm sure you recall your parents talking about these horrific crimes. They made an indelible impression on me. Especially the horrors of what Sharon Tate went thru.
I hope she just rots in her cell, she does not deserve any sort of release, parole, etc., IMHO.

When she first applied for release a month or so ago they said that only about 10 out of the 80 requested "compassionate release" each year get released. Given the nature of her crimes I don't know why she ever thought she had a chance to be released.

She was asking for a compassionate release? Pffffft. There was no compassion shown to ms. tate. Good for this judge not granting the release even though if atkins was released we wouldn't be responsible for her medical care which according to the article has cost $1.4 million since march.

Given her current status, not only would it probably not do her much good, no one in their right mind would let her out, and deservedly so.

I agree. I also think the state should cut off her medical care. The tax payers shouldn't have to pay for the medical treatment for someone who was once sentenced to death and clearly didn't show any compassion toward their victims.

Its not that easy. No matter what crimes she commited as a prison inmate she is entitled to medical care. Not saying its always right but thats just the way it is.

She should have paid a visit to the gas chamber. Besides kill Sharon Tate, they cut the unborn child out of her. The Manson family was a sick lot......MGC

She should not be let out in my opinion, she should not have even received consideration for release. Then again I don't think that premeditated murderers/murderesses should be released from prison, they should either get death or life without parole.
