wunderground not working

Anyone have issues accessing wunderground? I found some already discussing it in another forum. Seems to work and not for them but i get nothing. I have weather exchange desktop weather and it takes all its maps and some radar images from wunderground. Shows me Web page under construction. Some of those having issues are using bellsouth for an isp so I'm wondering if its a dns server or routing issue on bellsouth side....or just wunderground having issues.

Heres a discussion of it on dslreports. http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r ... rgroundcom

Anyone else? Chime in....

I get "Website declined to show this page" so it's not just you. It's a bookmarked favorite for me. It's the radar i go to first if there's bad weather in the area because i like the zoom in feature. I can't access any area of it.

I use firefox for my browser (Timewarner Cable is my internet, whatever they're through), tried the tropical page and all I got was a blank page.

I am also getting a weird page that in the corner indicates that the site is under construction.

Not too dis-similar to when S2K had the domain name issue and was down a few days (causing a PANIC to me that my favorite site was gone!).

The link given above has an address to get to the site with:

http://64.243.174.104/

EDIT:
On Wednesday morning when I try to go to http://www.wunderground.com I now get an error page that says that I am not authorized to view the page. It is listed on the bottom as an HTTP Error 403- Forbidden.

My buddy on comcast broadband has no problems with it either.

I'm not getting anything now tho. Except for regional radar....every link on my desktop wx is blank page or error. wunderground is just a blank page if i try to go directly in a browser...firefox or ie.

I ran a traceroute and it made it to the site...albeit very slowly so its there. I'm wondering if its a problem with some servers between bellsouth dns servers in miami and wunderground. Maybe too much data being lost due to a slow route from here to there? If anyone can access email addy for wunderground plz post it so I can contact them. - THANKS

Yes, same here. I had to keep entering my zip code but never got to a page for my specific forecast. A while back they revamped their website and each time I'd attempt to view my area's forecast page, it would lock up our computer. I had to delete wxunderground from my bookmarks. 6 months or so went by and I tried again, that time it worked like it used to - like a charm.

Do you think their site has been hacked? I hope not, it's a good wx site, IMO.

All I get is a blank page. I tried Jeff Masters' blog and the main page - no joy for either one.

I finally was able to access my zip code. Here's a wxunderground message I found on my specific page:

Hello Wunderground users. We first want to apologize for the connectivity issues that many of you are or have been experiencing. The problems were caused when someone at our domain name registrar inadvertently made a change to our domain name record. This essentially means that in the yellow pages of the Internet, they got our address wrong. Most people were left unable to the find our site and were instead presented with our registrar's default page.

We've been working frantically here trying to do anything we could to minimize the damage. We've just received word that in about 2 hours most of the connectivity should be restored thanks to some quick work by our registrar. In the meantime if you're in contact with individuals who cannot access the site through the wunderground.com domain name, please let them know that they can still access the site through weatherunderground.com.

We appreciate your patience as we try to work through these problems, and please alert our support of any other problems with the site.

I sent them an e-mail telling them that I could not access through the regular address and only through the IP Address:

http://64.243.174.104/

Here was their response:
Hello,

Weather Underground is currently experiencing a problem with name resolution (DNS) to the site. Roughly half of site visitors are taken to a "Site Under Construction" or an error page when they try wunderground.com.

We are working feverishly to solve this problem.

In the meantime, you can visit http://www.weatherunderground.com which still works.

Sincerely,
Weather Underground Staff

THEY HAVE POSTED THE FOLLOWING TO THEIR SITE:
Notice About Site Connectivity Issues

Thanks for contacting them FCI. My desktop weather is working now and I'm able to access them thru the wunderground domain.

It's nice that they can also be accessed thru weatherunderground.com
but that doesn't help with the Weather Exchange Desktop weather (which again....is working now) if the domain server goes down. They should have wxex it so it looks for their other dns server if one goes down or is inaccessible.

Maybe I'll suggest it to them. IMO WxEx is the best desktop weather application out there!!
