I guess they get bored and do things like this:
HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH NC
711 PM EDT THU JUL 31 2008
NCZ007>011-021>028-038>043-073>078-083>086-088-089-012315-
PERSON-GRANVILLE-VANCE-WARREN-HALIFAX-FORSYTH-GUILFORD-ALAMANCE-

JOHNSTON-WILSON-STANLY-MONTGOMERY-MOORE-LEE-HARNETT-WAYNE-ANSON-
RICHMOND-SCOTLAND-HOKE-CUMBERLAND-SAMPSON-
711 PM EDT THU JUL 31 2008
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA.
.DAY ONE...THROUGH TONIGHT.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
Why put out a hazardous weather outlook to say that none is expected?
Others that drive me up a tree are the Severe Weather Statements that have the exact text as the warning. The ones that come out to tell you that there is a warning of some type that's still in effect. Then the ones that say a strong thunderstorm is in the area? Aren't most thunderstorms strong? Sometimes it all seems to bit of overkill...
Sam gets down off his Soap Box, and puts it away.
