I'm praying as well. He's one of my favorite actors.

I was surprised to read he's 71. He has a much younger outlook on life or something, he just doesn't seem 71 to me.

I hope and pray he'll recover.

Morgan Freeman broke shoulder and arm in accident

According to a source very close to the "Dark Knight" star, Morgan Freeman is "resting comfortably in the hospital and is on medication for the pain."

"He broke his shoulder and arm, but he's doing OK. He's already laughing and joking around with the nurses."

Freeman was involved in a serious car accident around 11:30 Sunday night, just north of Ruleville, Miss. He was airlifted from the crash scene to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He and his wife, Myrna, live near Charleston, Miss., on a 126-acre ranch with a main house, peach trees and horse stables.

Freeman built the ranch on the same land his grandparents worked, which is where he spent much of his childhood.

Wonderful to hear that he is OK. I have a lot of admiration for Freeman, one of the best actors in Hollywood in any genera.

 Thanks for reminding me to watch Bruce Almighty this weekend on TNT.

Glad to hear he's coming along okay. You know, at first when I heard he was involved in a serious accident, I was confusing him with Morgan Fairchild! LOL

Freeman discharged from hospital

Hollywood star Morgan Freeman has been discharged from a hospital where he was recovering after a car crash.

In a short statement issued after his release, Freeman said that he was well.

He suffered a broken arm and had to undergo surgery after his car overturned and landed in a ditch near his home in Mississippi on Sunday.

A female passenger was also injured. On Wednesday Freeman's lawyer said the 71-year-old actor and his wife of 24 years, were getting divorced.

Bill Luckett said: "And for legal and practical purposes the pair have been separated since December 2007."

Freeman married costume designer Myrna Colley-Lee in June 1984.

The cause of the accident is unclear. Police said it was possible that the actor had fallen asleep at the wheel.

There is no word on the condition of his passenger, Demaris Meter of Memphis.

Freeman won a best-supporting actor Oscar for boxing drama Million Dollar Baby in 2005.

Last year it was announced the actor would play former South African president Nelson Mandela in forthcoming film The Human Factor.

His first credited film appearance was in the 1971 movie Who Says I Can't Ride a Rainbow!

Prior to that, he had worked as a mechanic in the US Air Force.

He is one of my favorite all time actors. I'm glad that he's been released from the hospital and seems to be doing well.

Wow, I guess I used to watch him on that occasionally. I had no idea he had been on that. Anybody have any idea how he went from AF mechanic to ONE OF THE BEST ACTORS EVER?

I remember watching the Electric Factory and never would've remembered him being on there until I saw that picture.
