Me! I just got the Jury Summons via mail a few weeks ago from Dallas County and was told to make a call on August 11th. I may be needed...then again I may not, but I will get reimbursed for my services. Wish me the best of luck.

Good luck. I became a citizen on September 2006 and so far I have never heard from Jury Duty. Lets see how long my luck lasts!! Good luck.

Got called to jury duty for local and federal already, lucked out and didn't have to stay for the local; federal I had to call every day for a week at 4PM to see if they needed me the next day, thankfully no.

My mum served on a jury in the case of a pimp. He was found not guilty, because the judge said that they couldn't use a prostitutes private diary as evidence.

I've had several local jury summons and one federal. Never got picked on the local. I was dismissed on the federal by the defense because of my position on the death penalty. I got paid mileage by the local but never received a dime on the federal.

I've been called several times but never selected. Seems my right wing views are not wanted in civil trials. The few people I have known to be selected were left wingers. At least I got a paid day off work though...MGC

I've been summoned 3 times, served once. I enjoyed it. I was surprised i was chosen
A lady was suing state farm
1. I have state farm insurance
2. I knew the judge
3. I knew the law clerk
4. I knew the baliff
5. I graduated high school with state farms attorney
6. I did business with the other attorney
7. I knew the attorney & his clients (who is his sister) family
I guess i was picked being the only white college grad female who ended up knowing everyone and they thought i could be fair, which i was.

I was picked to serve on a jury over 15 years ago in a case of a couple who were suing Orkin Termite Services for contaminating their house to the point that no one could live in it. During the time they had to leave their house, it was burglarized and Orkin was held responsible for that . Orkin had to pay over 2 million for the burglary and over 60 in punitive damages.

There was a stretch back in the '80s when I got called almost every year. And in those days they made you sit there from 8am to 4:30pm all week long, even if you never got picked. Spent a lot of those afternoons drunk.

I've been on three juries, two civil, one criminal. The criminal one was particularly satisfactory - we found the (insert expletive here) guilty on five counts aggravated rape. Third conviction - he's never getting out.

My dad got picked a few years ago and spent several days at the courthouse but never served. He's really opinionated on stuff like that.

I used to get called religiously every 2 years before Katrina, haven't been called since the storm. I enjoyed it tbh, and I was always named jury foreman

Good luck TStooge.
Many are called, but few are chosen. The last time I was excused becaue it was a DUI case, and I was once the victim of a drunken-driver case.

You're right about that statement.
I called their offices like what the summons said and come to find out I wasn't needed for Jury Duty after all. I'M OFF THE HOOK...for now.
