Man Charged With Leaving His Children Outside Strip Club

POSTED: 2:53 p.m. EDT August 12, 2003

TAMPA, Fla. -- Police arrested a 28-year-old mechanic who allegedly left his four children in his truck while he visited a strip club.

Olvin Pabon remained jailed Tuesday on $30,000 bond, charged with four counts of child neglect for Saturday's incident. The children, ages 1, 4, 6 and 8, were unharmed.

According to police reports, Pabon arrived at the Deja Vu bar at about 11:15 p.m. and paid a $20 cover. A security guard heard crying coming from the truck and found the four children.

Pabon came outside 20 minutes later. Security officers and several patrons stood in front of his truck and refused to let him leave until the police arrived. Pabon then told police he only went inside for ten minutes to use the restroom, according to reports.

The children went home with Pabon's sister-in-law.

The Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office had no comment Tuesday on his case.

In this case IDIOT! How many men would pay $20.00 just to take a leak??? Answer=NONE! At least he could have thought up a better lie. Kudos for the other people getting involved and holding him for police! :-)
