I just found out that my grandmother is in the hospital awaiting cemo theropy tonight for throat cancer after we thought she recovered from a struggle with throat cancer and asthma.
This all happens after my grandfather died earlier this year from a year long battle with a severe, uncurable throat tumor. The thing that sickens me though is the fact that they were both heavy smokers like my mom and most of her family. So I just wanted to bring up the fact that smoking is BAD and you should atleast try to persuade your siblings and friends from smoking because it will kill. Also I wanted to ask for a small prayer for my grandmother currently sick in the hospital.

Prayers going out for your grandmother. I agree that smoking is bad for any one, whether they inhale or are exposed to second hand smoke. My oldest son was born weighing only 3 lbs 7 1/2 ozs after I was exposed to constant cigarrette smoke when I was pregnant with my son. He was not a premature baby but he had two birth defects and kidney disease. In my family there is no history of the type of birth defects he had or of kidney disease, so I believe second hand smoke during the first 3 months had a abnormal effect on his growth.

I'm sorry to hear about your Grandmother. My prayers are with her.
