WHAT!?
Thats re-donk-ulous! Are you sure?
How can that be? Thats a big cut.......
Hubby just walked up and confirmed our local HESS has the 8pk. Pepsi in. He couldn't remember if it was 2 or 3 8pks. for $6. If its 3 then its the same as usual price and that may be the case for a few weeks before they bend us over and stick it to us. Nothing good last forever. Hopefully they will get such an uproar from the public they will go back, but I doubt it.. 2 words............HOW LAME!

That's AN OUTRAGE!!!
LOL!
I will tell you all right now, I will buy the 8 pack. Not the 18 pack. I keep trying to ween myself off Pepsi (I have 1 or 2 at the most, per day, everyday and I have for YEARS) for a long time. My latest trick has been to buy the small 8 oz. can size in 6 packs. But I find myself opening two 8 oz cans, which is more than one 12 oz can...sigh.
8 pack here I come.
But to get serious about something, I would like to point out to others, that if these 8 packs come in non-carton packaging and contain the plastic ring holder on the top of the can, would you please cut each hole open (even the tiny triangular ones near the center handle) before disposing of this can holder? Wild animals have been strangled with these plastic can pack holders, when they are disposed of, not cut into pieces. Thank you!

The 12 and 24 pack prices were too high to begin with, IMO. A 2 liter is a much better value. I like having cans for on the go, though, so I've always watched for sales and then bought plenty. Kroger puts drinks on sale a lot.
I can't say I'm surprised at the reduction in quantity while maintaining the same price. That's been going on with various companies for years. I've even seen a box get bigger while the contents decrease... uh, yeah, like we don't notice that.

In Canada there is at least still a 12 pack of everything as far as I know but I'm not sure on the 24 pack.
Although it's good that it might cause people to drink less of the pop, I'm very worried about where this is heading.

Ice cream is a perfect example of less for the same or more as most IC now comes in 1.75 Qt packs vs 1/2 gallon before but the prices haven't changed. I buy 2 liter bottles of soda and then recycle the bottles.

I've never seen an 8 or 18 pack of pop (in cans).

I really don't buy much soda, I prefer iced tea. I guess that I'm not surprised though about the trend. Some have already mentioned that it's happened in other products.

I agree the 2 liter is a better value, but I am addicted to the convenience of my cans. Our Hess usually alternates Pepsi and Coke every other week 2 12packs for $5 which is a great deal. By the time I run out they are on sale again. LOL. But I don't want to pay the same for less, but I guess it is inevitable.

I just checked the website for my local shoprite and they do not have 8 or 18 packs yet. I am sure it will come. We have already noticed it with ice cream

, and just recently with cereal. I think I also saw orange juice cartons that were not a half gallon......don't remember which brand though.

I looked all over as well... They have kept it pretty quiet..They say its a national roll out... The Pepsi guy toled me gas and alumunum prices had alot to do with it...I'm sure each area will be different...It depends on how much 12 pk supply they have already made and then you have to get the packageing companys to convert there stock..

We've had 8 packs and 20 packs here for a good while. They don't move off the shelves as fast as the 12 packs though. The 20 pack is twice the price of the 12 pack even though you don't get twice the cans.

How is it that flavored corn syrup sodas are increasing in price and beer is still the same? Bud is still a 12 pack and it's still $8.99? Unless you purchase a 16 ounce glass of Bud at JFK JetBlue sports bar.....it's $8 each!!!!

keyword here is
CORN. . . With the increased use of biofuels (made from corn), prices for anything containing High Frutrose Corn Syrup (HFCS) have increased. . . and part of the problem is also that they put HFCS in everything nowadays in place of sugar (prices of which is kept artificially high).
