Another successful launch.

It was one of the most beautiful launches I have seen, they are always nice at night but with the full moon in the background it was awesome!!!
Trying to find some good shots, here is one before launch.

Feeling a bit proud tonight as things have come full circle. Some of you know that I lost my Dad last year. He was a great father with many "interesting" careers in his life. One being that he worked in the Lunar Receiving Lab at JSC during the Apollo Moon Mission Days and opened most of the Moon Rock boxes and samples from Apollo 11 through Apollo 17. Tonight, my Dad's wrist watch is being carried aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour mission to the Space Station. What a thrill for our family to see a safe launch tonight. Here's a couple of pictures of Dad working with the samples in 1969. Hope everyone enjoys...

Thanks folks. My Brother in law has worked so hard on this module aboard Endeavour headed to the Space Station. When Commander Ferguson asked if he had anything personal to "fly" this mission, he was told the stories about my Dad's time at JSC and the "old" Apollo days. Commander Ferguson agreed to carry Dad's watch with him. We are proud and know how much my father would have loved this. 8-)

Oh wow srainhoutx! Thank you for sharing those pictures and the story about your Dad's watch on the Endeavor. It's wonderful to read about how our members are somehow tied to adventures and moments in history such as this. :D

Impressive, thanks for sharing. It's a shame that a lot of people don't believe NASA went to the Moon.
