......the ringing of the gong......

Today is a very big day for us. In about an hour I'll wake Becky. We'll travel to the Hederman Cancer Center in Jackson, Mississippi. At Hederman they have this big gong in the atrium. The purpose of the gong is for patients that complete cancer treatment. They have this big stick that patients use to ring the gong. You can hear the echo through the halls. Which is always followed by cheers from folks throughout the facility. It brings hope.
Becky takes her final Herceptin infusion this morning. It's marks the end of a 14 month ordeal battling breast cancer. She is NED (no evidence of disease).
IT'S HER TURN TO RING THE GONG!
The plan is to film the event to include the final infusion and all the chemo nurses that have become our friends......along with the ringing of the gong......and then do a Youtube posting.
Remember what Christmas felt like when you were a little kid? That's how I feel today!
