On Dec 10th, Senate passed H.R. 6184: America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008
This bill is awaiting the President's signature.
America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008 - Requires quarter dollars, issued beginning in 2010, to have designs on the reverse emblematic of one national site in each state, the District of Columbia and territory of the United States.
Instructs the Secretary of the Treasury to select in each state a national park or other national site to be honored with a coin. Requires five coin designs in each year of the period of issuance.
Instructs the Secretary to strike and make available for sale silver bullion coins that are exact duplicates of such quarter dollars.
Authorizes the Director of the National Park Service to purchase for resale or distribution numismatic items issued under this Act.
This series will run from 2010 through 2018... which is two years longer than the projected finish date for the Presidential Dollars

Well that's kind of cheap....some states (ie. New Hampshire, Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc) already did that with their state quarters. What's bigger than Mount Rushmore in South Dakota?

They'll just keep adding more and more things to put on the quarters. In a few years, it'll be the presidents' pets.
