Oh goodness derek. It's her body. It's the oldest profession. If that's what she wants to do with it let her do it. What other federal laws is she breaking? This way no one else is getting hurt or anything like that. She could have chosen to sell drugs or something like that.

I'm not an advocate of prostitution but i'd rather see legalized rather than be a crime. The women would probably be alot safer than they are now.

as for other federal laws... using the internet to solicit criminal activity for starters. At least conspiracy as well as wire act violations. That, and she likely wont pay taxes on that, so we could be looking at a tax evasion charge as well

Oh she's such a big bad criminal. For one thing...she hasn't broken the law yet. You are merely speculating which is how rumors start and i'm sure now that her name is out along with her picture i'm sure she can't hide especially when she applies for her therapists license.

I'd rather the rules be more lenient for prostitution than murder, incest, rape and other horrific crimes. This woman is an adult and is choosing by her own will what to do with her body. The prostitution law here in the US is so archaic. Google where is prostitution legal and you see the US is the main country that has not legalized it.

we should not head down the amoral route and abandon our Christian principles, just to be in line with the rest of the world

if there is a lawyer here... would the RICO statutes also apply in this case since she is using the internet for illegal processes

What RICO violation? How is this a criminal organization? She's one individual who (as far as I can see) has committed one criminal act - a misdemeanor in most if not all US jurisdictions.

It's you who think it's amoral. I'd rather someone go to a prostitute rather than go out and rape a woman. Not everything is black and white and not everyone deserves to be killed or jailed.

I'm a happily married man, and my faith would not allow me to commit adultery anyway, but if I was the type to monger prostitutes, well, she is reasonably attractive, but even with zero miles on the odometer, I can't see spending more than, what did Eliot Spitzer pay, about $1000 per hour.


BTW, I don't think he is being prosecuted, but he did transport a woman across state lines for prostitution (the Mann Act) and transmitted funds by wire.


BTW, when I was at college, most grad students had opportunities for employment in the department, grants, and student loans. Not sure why anyone who was reasonably bright and hard working would need to break any laws to pay for school.
