Banana-Cream Pancake Disaster Thread!

The winner of a pancake-eating contest dropped dead after gorging himself on 43 of the cream and banana stuffed desserts.
Boris Isayev, 48, from west Russia, collapsed to his knees and died on stage after stuffing himself with pancakes in a competition to mark the end of the region’s ‘Pancake Week’.
"He had really enjoyed the pancakes but then he started foaming at the mouth and went down like a sack of stones," one witness said.
Pancake disaster!

what a horrible death! Though im sure he enjoyed his last few minutes!

This is coming from someone who HAS the eat the other way - lightly and in small portions - IBS sufferer here - OMG! Ever since my medical woes, I've read about these eating contests and wondered when someone would need emergency surgery. Our stomaches are not intended to eat this much food at one time!
The poor man though.......

In Spanish there is a saying "the fish dies because of his mouth." Same problem here, the eating killed him.

Its says he probably choked to death. How can someone on stage in front of all
those people choke to death without anyone noticing? Poor fellow.

I attended Pancake Fest (really), this past Valentine's Day, here in Lakeland, Florida. It was amazing, but I only made it through 3 good sized pancakes before nearly passing out. That's the deal with pancakes. They're delicious, until you eat half of them. Then you NEVER want another pancake.
