Find That Song By Humming It; Is There Such A Site?

Online, it's easy to find a song you like once you know its title or at least some of its lyrics. But what about if you know just its tune and can only hum it? Wouldn't it be cool if you could hum it into Windows Sound Recorder or some similar application and then upload the file to a service that would scan it and search an on-site database or even the entire Internet for the song that most closely matches the recording? 8-)

There must be hundreds of songs to which I know their melodies but am clueless as to their lyrics. In fact, many of those tunes (mostly classical masterpieces) don't even have lyrics. And we're all familiar with those songs that do have lyrics but no matter how many times we listen to them, can't understand what's being said!

Hmm... Maybe I'm onto something here and better see if I can invent it and make loads of cash!

You know I have thought about that before and thought it would be cool.
I have also thought about a tool where you could upload a picture and do a
search on it would be awesome too. Like what kind of snake, insect, ect. this is
you just found in your house, or yard. Or what brand is this old fixture so I can
get replacement parts for it or fix it. So instead of typing a word in the search
box you just upload a picture.
