I just heard in the radio about this sad news.Rest in peace to who was a great Actress.

Farrah Fawcett, whose stunning looks and blinding smile made her a pop icon of the 1970s, has died. She was 62.

Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, says Fawcett died Thursday morning in a Santa Monica hospital. Her 2½-year battle with cancer was depicted in the TV documentary “Farrah’s Story.”

TMZ.com is reporting that the actress' longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, and Fawcett's friend, Alana Stewart, were with her at the time of her death.

Sorry to hear that. Another great talent has passed on. First it was Ed McMahon and now Farrah Fawcett.

She had a BS in microbiology from The University of Texas, and was a member of the Tri-Delt sorority.


I wonder if she was at that famous Rose Bowl game against USC.


But a microbiology degree, she had some brains to go with the beauty.

Awww, I always liked her. I knew she had been battling cancer for a while, though. R.I.P. Farrah.

Another famous Houstonian is now at rest. I'm glad her suffering is over, and very sad that she lost this particular battle. Prayers going out to her family and friends.

Edit: I was incorrect. She grew up in Corpus Christi. I thought she was from Houston.

Ed, Farrah, and then MJ, all within a couple of days.

Pity she will now get no press. RIP

This one I think we were a little bit more prepared for, but still.

God, I remember her hairstyle being all the rage when I was a teenager - I had it as well. I remember going to a lot of my girlfriend's homes and their brothers all had that poster.

She really was a very good actress. She had a couple of very good made for television movies like "The Burning Bed".

I hope that her son with Ryan O'Neal will be able to handle this and perhaps lock away his demons once and for all.

Tragic. The most beautiful woman of the 70's. Rest in peace.

She was beautiful. I always wanted her haircut. I loved her hair. It just didn't work with hair so straight it wouldn't hold a curl.

I was asleep for a period of time after I heard of Farrah Fawcett dying (I never really knew her, as she was before my time, plus I'm no Charlie's Angels fan), and when I woke up, I heard Michael Jackson died. I thought "this is a joke, right?", but then I saw news site after news site, and I finally realized this was no joke: Michael and Farrah died the same day. David, Ed, Farrah, and Michael, and all in the same month. And as people pointed out, Patrick Swayze and Walter Cronkite are not looking too good either. RIP David, Ed, Farrah, and Michael, you will all be missed.
