Every summer, about 6 million people come to the 1st Bathing Beach of my hometown Qingdao, in this year after 1st of July, the beach has received some 100,000 people, including local residents and travellers. There's 9 major beaches in Qingdao, but the 1st Bathing Beach is the most famous one.

wyq614, even though our beaches are among the best in the world, one would never see a scene like that in Barbados. Some of the tourist marvel at this and love it that they have so much space to themselves. But the reason is quite simple: Many Bajans (Barbadians) are afraid of the sea because of an old saying that "De sea ain't got no back door!" Well, I'm the exception to the rule and can't get enough of it!

It's hard to beat a sunny day at the beach. :sun:

Same on St Kitts......you never see the locals in the water. And there are literally miles of beaches on the Atlantic side and not the first person.

The locals go there to get away from hot weather, the travellers, especially those from landblocked provinces, go there for traveling and experience the touching of the seawater.
