I thought this was pretty funny. It could have turned out badly, though. This old lady would have no part in being robbed... and the guy was in a gang! Brave woman.

87-year old woman chases robber from home with RAID

Jasper Police say a man is behind bars after an 87-year old woman chased an attempted robber from her home with a can of RAID bug spray.

Alex Fowler, 26, of Jasper, was arrested today and charged with aggravated robbery.

According to Lt. James Cook, Fowler is a known and admitted CRIP gang member with the words "Crip for Life" tattooed across the front of his neck.

According to Cook, Fowler approached Dorothy Williams, 69, and Sue Erzen, 87, in the 1000 block of North Zavalla. Fowler was allegedly wearing a bandana for a mask, a hat of some type, rubber gloves and carrying a handgun and demanded the victim's purses.

Cook said the victims told Fowler they had no money but he insisted that he be given the purses. The two women confronted Fowler, the eldest with a can of Raid insect repellent. The suspect then fled on foot, south on Zavalla.

Police gained information from their investigation and located the suspect at his residence in the 870 block of North Zavalla.

"We located the weapon, a black-colored BB pistol, the bandana, rubber gloves and a dark-colored toboggan from a back bedroom inside the residence," Cook said.

RAID is really oily and persists for a while. The oily stuff in RAID is what helps kills cockroaches besides pyrethroid.

The quickest way to kill a cockroach is with wasp & hornet spray. With roach spray, you often have to chase them and spray them and then hope they die after they crawl off, crawling over more things and contaminating them. With wasp & hornet spray, if you hit them, they die instantly. No staggering around. Plus, it shoots from over 20 feet away, so you don't even have to get close to the nasty creatures! Blech!

LOL cat5... how many did he clean? You'd think he'd notice the smell pretty quickly. Roach spray stinks.

Look on the bright side, RAID will continously kill any insects that go on the table. :grrr: :ggreen:

You know, just the other day I was thinking that ants probably crawl over the same surfaces as cockroaches and spread the same germs but hardly anyone sees ants in the same light as roaches.

Here's something for everyone to think about. Do you really have any idea what crawls over and around anything in your house once the lights go out?
