 "You need enzymes to make ATP, and you need ATP to make enzymes," said researcher Terence Kee of the University of Leeds in England. "The question is: Where did energy come from before either of these two things existed? We think that the answer may lie in simple molecules, such as pyrophosphate, which is chemically very similar to ATP, but has the potential to transfer energy without enzymes."

Yeah, and where did THAT energy first come from? Where did the first egg come from to make the first chicken, etc. LOL, don't take me seriously and try to answer, I'm just kidding! And, I'm old, and dull. Think I'll just continue to believe in an intelligent Designer who literally "breathed" life into the first life here, as Genesis describes.

This reminded me of another similar story.

Scientists created a synthetic genome that can self-replicate

I don't know if this means "creating life" but it is pretty awesome. I wish I could do stuff like this in my science lab at the college.
